“Porter and I will come to an agreement that pleases both of us.”

“I want one hundred grand and I walk out, never to be seen again. You can keep my brother as a leaving gift.”

“So I just hand over the money you requested and watch you disappear.”

“That's right.” She just ignores her brother as he tries to plead with her around the gag.

“No deal.” I shake my head at her. “The new deal is one hundred grand for you and our mystery guy to leave the city, but I need to know who is leaving with my money.”

“I'm not telling you.”

“Well, I've had the paperwork drawn up, so whenever you change your mind, we can make the deal.” I shrug my shoulders and nod at Caeo. The man is loyal without fault, and he has the contract and money ready without questioning me. The bag of money stays on the floor, sliding from him to her. The contract is placed on the table before her.

“I've added space for your mum and brother, if you'd like to add their well-being to the paper.”

She's made it clear she doesn't care, but I'm making the point for Porter's benefit. He needs to realise he's on his own. That she has no intention of saving him.

“I'm not telling you his name.” She responds undeterred. “Besides, it doesn’t look like Porter is suffering too badly.”

“OK. Well, you take all the time you need to think about that. Porter has bought you the rest of the weekend before we get serious with our encouragement.”

“No!” She slaps the table. “You're going to let me walk out of here tonight and you'll never have to worry about us again.”

“That's you and Porter, right?”

“N…” Tiffany glances at her brother. His eyes are pleading with her, but she just doesn’t care. “You can let Porter go too if you're already bored with him.”

“Is the deal for Porter or your mystery guy? You can only choose one.”

Tiffany fills her mouth with mushrooms to avoid answering. I decide to shift the conversation a bit.

“We don't need to worry about some frustrated dealer waking up your mum because you haven't delivered on what you promised, do we?” I push her for an ounce of concern.

“She wouldn't even notice.”

“Porter is very worried about her.”

“Why Poe? You should have moved out when you had the chance. You should have escaped like I did. She isn’t worth saving, she’ll never get clean.” She looks him in the eyes for the first time, and it's to mock his loyalty to the woman who birthed him.

“Yes. Look where it got you.” I answer for my boy. “Look at your brother. Do you like what you see?”

I'm finding this woman infuriating, but I've given my word not to hurt her for the weekend. I can manage one weekend.

“Like I said, he isn't any worse for wear. I thought you were a very mean man.” She gives a sarcastic chuckle. “Seems I was wrong.”

“Tell me who you were giving my drugs to, and you can take him home.”

Despite all my hopes for him, and the rehab offer, Porter nods at her. I didn’t want to have to do this, but obviously she wants proof he is actually being tortured. Being humiliated isn’t enough for her. I pick up my knife, checking the sharpness.

“Tell me, and your mother can stay in rehab for as long as she needs. If you hate drugs so much, surely you want her clean.”

“There is no dealer.”

“Do you know what I do to people who steal from me?” I stand up and walk over to my treasure. The terrified look on his face is breaking my resolve, but this needs to happen. Tiffany needs to see I am serious, and Porter needs to see she just doesn't care.

“Apparently, nothing for twenty-four hours,” she answers smugly. The smirk on her face has me wanting to take the knife and stab it through her heart. But I let it skim down Porter's throat to his chest. He tries to pull back away, begging even more. Shaking his head doesn't hide the erection swelling in those shorts.

“Fine.” Still no consideration of her tied up brother. “Time to make the most of your brother's contribution to that grace period. Anywhere specific you would like me to cut first?” I ask as the knife trails across his stomach. Porter falls silent, panting with need. Such a good treasure.
