"I love this place," Hunter said. "I think I might keep studying so I can stay here longer."

Academics wasn't the only thing Brutham took seriously. Under the guise of churning out well-rounded adults, they also took the relaxation side to a whole new level. That, or the school board had a lot of kinks they wanted to explore. Either way, that left us with a space to explore. And drink.

The Academy's bar was located in the basement, in a soundproof space that consisted of several private rooms, and one main area with a long bar down one side.

Music thumped from speakers in the ceiling, playing some song that hadn't been released to the public yet. The bass was as heavy as the tone, while the lyrics said something about fucking someone's mouth.

"That doesn't sound like Wolf Venom," I said teasingly. Hunter and Parker had both threatened people with violence in the past if they played their brother's music down here.

I suspected Mr D would be just as happy to hear it as they would. I didn't mind Wolf Venom’s music, but it was weird that Hunter and Parker, and Mr D both had brothers in the same band.

In fact, Zeke and Asher were involved with each other as well as with Abbie. Fuck only knew what would happen if Chloe and I started a war between us. Honestly, if it created trouble between Zeke and Asher, that was not my problem.

My interest was in my own ass, as well as Hunter and Parker's. If collateral damage happened along the way, then too fucking bad.

"It's better than Wolf Venom." Parker grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the lounge area in the corner. "It's Blazing Violet. They were the support act for Zeke's band on the last world tour, but now they're headlining. They fucking rock."

"That is the idea of a rock band, isn't it?" I let Parker pull me down onto the couch and settled in on his lap. Hunter disappeared off in the direction of the bar.

"That depends who you ask," Parker said. "For example, if you ask my brother Caleb, he'll tell you rock bands are a really good way of smuggling contraband. Same with hockey teams."

"Hockey teams?" I said with a laugh. "That's specific."

Parker wrapped his arms around me and slipped his hands under the front of my shirt. He pressed them against my belly, and squeezed the soft flesh there.

"Yeah, he bought one." He shrugged. "The Dusk Bay Demons. As far as I can tell, they suck. That's what you get for signing a bunch of guys who come from our… Lifestyle."

"And then they give them knife shoes and sticks, what could go wrong?" I said dryly.

"A puck ton," he laughed.

I jabbed my elbow into his ribs. "That was terrible."

"Hey," he said in protest. He squeezed me tighter. "That joke was awesome."

"You saidawfulwrong," I told him over my shoulder. "Pucking awful."

He groaned. "Nowthatone was bad."

"What was bad?" Hunter approached with a tray in his hands.

Another man followed behind him, his gaze on me as he drew closer.

He had to at least have been in his late twenties, with dark hair and blue-green eyes which seemed to see everything. When he looked at me, I got the impression he saw into my soul.

"This is Slade Lincoln." Hunter jerked her head in his direction before placing the tray down on the table. "He's the new business law lecturer."

"Someone had to replace Dexter Clifford," Parker said. He leaned past me to offer Slade his hand. "It's good to see you again, dude."

Slade shook his hand, then sat beside him. "You too, bro."

"You don't sound like a business law lecturer," I remarked.

Slade looked at me appraisingly, his eyes dipping to my breasts and back up again. "I don't? I'm sorry to disappoint you."

"You don't disappoint me," I said quickly. "Just, the last one was uptight and old." This one was young and hot. Looking at him made me want to pant.

"Yeah, I try not to be uptight." Slade already had me naked with his eyes. His fingers were mentally circling my clit.
