Nash sighed. “I’m being an asshole.” He sat up in bed.

Adam reached to help him but quickly pulled his hand away.

“I’m sorry, Adam.” Nash grasped his hand before bringing it to his mouth and kissing the back of it.

“It’s okay. I understand.” He didn’t get it completely, but he didn’t want Nash to feel bad.

“It’s not okay. I’ll do better.” Nash kissed his hand again.

“Why don’t we shower and we’ll all walk across the street. Nash can keep you company while I run to the store. Then we’ll come back here and make the chili before joining you for lunch?” Lucas suggested.

That was a perfect solution! “I’d like that,” Adam said.

“Me too.” Nash winked at Adam. “Guess that’s why he’s the Daddy.”

“I said…” Lucas launched himself off the bed to lean over Nash. “That you could call me sir.” He kissed Nash hard.

As Nash tried to keep Lucas’s lips pressed to him, Adam scooted closer. It was a stupid idea, but Adam couldn’t help himself. He leaned as close as he could before adding his tongue into the mix.

Books made a three-way kiss hot and erotic, but it ended up being messy and not so fun. Adam even got a tongue up his nose at one point. They broke away laughing and Adam fell on the bed at their silliness.

“Shower, boys!” Lucas finally said.

Adam rolled off the bed. “I get first!” He headed in the direction of Lucas’s attached bathroom. He might have given his butt a little shake, hoping that he could entice one or both of his men to follow.

“Help me up!” Nash demanded.

“Oh sure, now you want help up!” Lucas said with a laugh.

Nash

Getting around the spacious kitchen wasn’t as difficult as Nash had expected. With Lucas’s help, Nash had been able to get the chili simmering on the stove and he’d just finished mixing up the batter for the cornbread.

“Are you sure you don’t need any more help?”

Nash glanced at where Lucas was sitting at the island on a barstool. “I’m good. I just need to pour the batter into the pan and get it into the oven.”

“Where’d you learn to cook anyway?”

“I’m a southern boy that was raised in my mama’s kitchen.” Nash leaned against the counter. His leg was getting sore but at least his ribs and sides were healed. He could move around without that extra tinge of pain.

“Your mama?”

He laughed. “She’ll always be my mama, man. Doesn’t matter how old I get.”

“And you helped her in the kitchen?”

“I was in the kitchen, helping my dad out in the yard, mowing my grandparents’ yard… Anything to keep me busy.”

“That bothers you more than you let on,” Lucas said.

Nash rolled his eyes. “I don’t need to talk to a shrink.”

“How about talking to your boyfriend?”

“Let me put this in the oven.” Nash hoped for a few minutes to get his thoughts in order. “My leg is starting to ache.”
