That along with the investigation had started the fall of Jim Crossway.

There were months of work to do but the church and farm were shut down. There would be no one left to run things as they had over forty warrants for people involved.

It was over.

Children were safe.

Jim Crossway wouldn’t breathe free air again.

Nash turned off the video as Jim Crossway was finally dragged inside the cop shop.

He’d woken up way too early for the raid out at the farm but that was where Nash and Lincoln had wanted to be. Carson had been at the house Jim Crossway shared with his new wife.

The old man hadn’t fought as he’d been placed in cuffs, but his wife had. Nash didn’t mind seeing her thrown to the ground. She had been spewing all kinds of hate at the officers in charge.

“It’s over,” Lincoln said. “We can finally go home.”

“I bet Caden will be happy to hear that.”

“Yeah, there’s no way that I could ever have to travel for work. I missed having my boy in my arms every night.”

Nash had been lucky to have Lucas and Adam with him. He would have come regardless but it was nice to have his partners with him. In such a brief time, Nash had found himself depending on Lucas and Adam, even though he’d sworn he’d never make himself vulnerable again. Lucas and Adam hadn’t even had to break through his barricades. Nash had opened his arms, hadn’t even put up a fight.

“What about you?” Lincoln asked.

“What about me?” Nash stuffed his phone back in his pocket before pushing off the car.

“Do you plan on going home once we get back or are you still going to pretend you don’t live with Lucas and Adam?”

“I’m not living with them,” Nash argued.

“Keep telling yourself that,” Lincoln said. “You’ll never run out of clean clothes again.”

Nash snorted. It was well known he hated doing laundry.

“We got company.” Lincoln tilted his head toward the front doors.

“The cavalry.” Nash had to admit the three narcotics detectives looked good as they sauntered out of the front doors of the police station. He’d gotten to know the three men better in the week that he’d been in Vegas. He really enjoyed fucking with Smith.

“You can send our thank-you basket to the station,” Nash called out.

“I’ll send you something,” Smith responded as he threw Nash the middle finger.

Nash laughed. Smith really was too easy to rile up.

“I guess you’ll be headed out?” Remy asked as they reached him and Lincoln.

“Can’t wait to get out of this godforsaken city,” Lincoln joked.

“Yeah right. We’ll probably start getting monthly visits,” Remy said.

“Seriously, you guys are always welcome.”

Nash shared fist bumps with all of them including Smith but in reality, he just wanted to go home.
