“No buts. You need to just be taken care of, cared for in a time like this. Let Daddy do that.”

She nodded her head and scooched forward as he got into the bathtub. She immediately pushed herself back between his legs and leaned her back and head onto his chest.

His arms wrapped around her body and she relaxed.

“Good girl,” he said. “Such a good girl for Daddy.”

She closed her eyes and felt her Daddy start to wash and take care of her. She could get used to this.

CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

STORM

Three days had gone by since Storm had the gun pointed at her head. Three days since Richard was killed, and she didn’t have to worry anymore.

It was strange to no longer have the danger around. Storm felt like it had been there forever and she was never going to get away from it, but here she was, the danger gone.

For the past three days she had been in Little space, having Daddy take care of her. Rogan was nice enough and had given him several days off since everything had happened, but she knew sooner or later he was going to go back to work and be gone for several hours at a time.

Daddy had talked to her about starting construction on the new bookstore she was going to own. She was nervous and scared. It was a huge responsibility to own a whole store. Storm had no clue what she was doing, but her Daddy told her she shouldn’t worry because he would help her and have other people help her as well.

She had talked to her Daddy about having a person who could watch over children or have a little play area because she wanted to hire Felix and help her out. He liked the idea and told her they would think of a way to make it happen.

So much had gone on and yet she felt like she was finally starting to live. She had her own Daddy, her dreams were coming true, and she had friends. It was a start, and she couldn’t wait to see what else was going to happen.

Her Daddy had asked her so many questions the other day related to her getting sick all the time. He wanted to know what all the doctors had said and who the doctors were. Apparently, he was hell bent on finding out why she was getting sick.

“Dadddyyyy!” she yelled.

“Inside voices,” he replied as he walked into the room.

She smiled up at him and giggled.

“Play!” she demanded.

Storm was currently playing with Lincoln Logs.

“Ask nicely,” he said.

“Pease plays with me?” she asked.

Smiling, he nodded his head and sat down next to her on the ground.

“What are you making?” he asked. “A castle?”

“No,” she giggled. “A cabin!”

“Why a cabin?”

“So pretty.”

She continued to place the logs on top of each other.

“Would you want to go visit one? Stay for a couple days?” he asked.

Her head whipped up to his and her eyes went wide.

“Reallys?”
