“I don't know if I got there in time,” he managed to get out. “What if I was too late?”

He didn't like thinking about that, but he needed to because it was a possibility. He could have gotten there just a little bit too late, and this could be the end. No nurses or doctor had come out to talk to him yet, which didn't make him feel good.

“Positive fucking thinking,” Hedda said. “You need to think positively that she is going to make it out. None of this bullshit about you being too late. She's going to pull through this. I know it.”

Miles couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. She had been doing so well about not cursing and she just had to break it. This wasn't really a time to curse but Hedda probably thought she was getting her point across.

“How long has she been back there?” she asked.

He shrugged his shoulders and looked up at the time. “Over thirty minutes now.”

He knew it had to be at least thirty minutes because about twenty-five minutes ago, Anita had gone back to give them his blood.

“What are the chances I happen to be a blood type that could be given to anybody?” he murmured.

Miles didn't know much about blood or how it really worked but right now he was thankful he knew what his blood type was. Maybe his blood could be her saving grace.

“You gave blood?” Hedda asked.

He nodded his head and looked at his hands. He wasn't the type of person to do nice things. He kept to himself, mostly, and did his own thing.

“I never thought I would see the day you helped somebody. I thought you were always going to be ending lives, not saving them,” she said.

“Don't get used to it,” he replied.

He wasn't going to make a habit out of this, but he couldn't not help Storm because she meant something to him. He hadn't felt this in a long time, where he deeply cared about somebody.

Sure, he cared about Hedda, but it wasn't the same. She was just a close friend, not somebody he was sexually attracted to and wanted to be with for the rest of his life.

Storm was different.

Since the first time he’d laid eyes on her, he knew she was special. And knowing she was a Little and he was a Daddy made everything so much better. He just hoped she would let him beherDaddy.

Well, he wasn't really going to give her a choice. She was his and there was going to be no mistake about it. He knew she was attracted to him and he was attracted to her. When she woke up, he was going to lay his claim on her and let her know she was his and nobody else's.

He was going to let everybody in the Ricci Crime Family know she was off limits, but if she was ever in danger, they were going to help her.

They helped family and she was now family.

Before Hedda could respond, the doors opened and his head shot up. Angelo walked through the doors and toward them.

Miles stood up and walked toward him. “Is she okay? Did she make it through?”

He couldn't help but ask those questions. He wanted to know if he still had a chance with her.

“She's in critical condition and the next several hours are crucial but she has a good chance. She's currently unconscious and we don't know when she's going to wake up,” Angelo replied.

His shoulders relaxed some when he heard she had pulled through the surgery.

“Why is she unconscious?” he asked.

“Well, she lost a lot of blood and we think it's just her body shutting down to let it heal. The next several hours are critical because if she crashes, we may not be able to get her heart beating again. But we don't think that’s going to happen,” Angelo replied. “Nurses will be in and out of her room to check her heart rate and make sure she's doing okay. You can go see her if you would like. Both of you.”

Miles nodded his head and followed Angelo through the doors and toward her room. His heart started to beat faster the closer they got.

“I want to let you know before you walk in that she does look bad, but she should regain some color back into her face in the next couple hours,” Angelo said before he opened the door.

Miles walked in first and saw her connected to several machines. His heart broke over this happening to her because it shouldn't have. She should have never been kidnapped.
