Hedda seemed comfortable around Rogan. She wasn't afraid to talk back to him, which meant she was either incredibly brave or she knew Rogan pretty well.

“Food is coming and you're going to eat every last bit of it. I'm going to step outside and call Miles to let him know you're awake,” he said. “I'm going to be right outside the door and can hear everything.”

Before Storm could say anything, Rogan was walking out the door. She didn't want Miles near her. He was the reason she was in this mess. She had no clue why anyone would think they were boyfriend and girlfriend when he’d told her he didn't want to see her anymore.

Nothing made sense.

Storm looked over at Hedda.

“He's scary,” she whispered. “Can you tell him I don't want Miles here?”

She was hoping since Hedda seemed comfortable enough around him to back talk and argue, she could go tell him not to call Miles.

Storm still had feelings for Miles but after everything that’d happened, she didn't want to be around him or have anything to do with him. He had told her he didn't want anything to do with her but then somebody had kidnapped her and he’d saved her.

While she was grateful he had saved her, now she felt like she was indebted to him. That she had to do something for him to make up for it. She had no clue what that would be and hoped he would tell her it was all right and just leave her alone.

She just wanted to wallow in her self-pity and move on from him, or at least try.

“Even if I argue with him, he's still going to call Miles,” Hedda said. “I wish I could do something more, but I can't. I'm already on thin ice with him.”

Storm could see the defeat in Hedda. Rogan didn't sound happy when Hedda started to argue with him, and she knew people with those tempers were dangerous. One little thing and they could be set off and become unpredictable.

“W-Who is h-he?” she nervously asked.

She didn't want to ask questions that would make Hedda uncomfortable or she couldn't answer. Rogan seemed scary and Hedda knew him, and knew him really well. He could do anything to her and she didn't want to make it worse for Hedda.

“He's my brother,” she said.

A shocked look flew across Storm's face as she stared at Hedda. Rogan was her brother? How was that possible?

“While he's strict and cold in showing he doesn't care about anything, in reality, he does care about the people that are close to him or that matter,” she explained.

“How am I close to him or matter? I don't know him,” Storm said.

Nothing was making sense and Hedda explaining what she did just made everything else even more confusing. She had never met Rogan in her life, so why did she matter to him?

“Well, you're my best friend but I'm pretty sure Miles told him you were his girl,” Hedda said. “Miles is close and matters to Rogan which means Rogan has to take care of you as well. If Miles isn't the same or worried about you because you've been kidnapped, he's going to be distracted and Rogan doesn't want that.”

Storm stopped breathing for a second when Hedda stopped speaking. There was no way Miles said she was his girl. He had completely rejected her and now that she’d been kidnapped, he all of a sudden wanted to put a claim on her?

That's not how it worked.

“He can't do that,” Storm said.

“Let's stay calm,” Hedda said. “We don't want to rip your stitches.”

Storm took several deep breaths in, trying to calm herself down, but it was harder than she thought. She was boiling inside with anger.

Miles couldn't just go back and forth on what he wanted. Especially since it had to do with her and she had a say in this. He couldn't just put a claim on her and call it done because she rejected that claim.

Everything about this was wrong.

He should have asked her before. Storm probably would have said yes if he had come back and asked her, but he didn't. He hadn’t even asked. He just said.

“I'm not sure if he did or not so we just need to stay calm,” Hedda said. “Let's not jump the gun and work ourselves up over something that may not even be true.”

If what Hedda said about her brother was right, then he wouldn't just do it for anybody. She didn't know him but if Miles said she was his girl, then it made sense.
