Miles could do anything he wanted to her and she couldn’t do anything but say words.

That wasn’t going to help.

“Miles, I don’t want you near me,” she said. “Please leave!”

“Stop moving,” Rogan growled.

She had no clue when he had walked back into the room. Miles walking in, covered in blood, had distracted her. Anything could have happened and she wouldn’t have known.

“I don’t want you here! I never want to see you again! I want to be left alone to myself.” She raised her voice.

Storm didn’t know what overcame her. Maybe it was all the anger she was feeling, but she couldn’t stop herself from speaking. It was like all this pent-up anger and frustration was just pouring out.

She needed to get it out.

“Fucking leave! I don’t want to see you!” she yelled. “Rogan should have never called you!”

Miles growled and she faltered for a second. Maybe she shouldn’t have raised her voice at him. She had no clue if he was stable or not.

Could he lose it and hurt her? Was he so angry he couldn’t tell who was the good guy or bad guy?

“You better get her under control or I will,” Rogan barked at Miles.

Storm watched as Miles looked over at Rogan and nodded his head. What was he going to do?

Miles started to walk over to her and she pushed herself into the bed, quickly groaning as she felt the skin around her bullet wound tighten. Hot searing pain erupted and she let out a small scream.

Tears filled her eyes as the pain seemed to linger. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched as Miles stopped and looked at her. Almost like he was worried about her.

He continued his walk toward her. Storm tried to open her mouth to say something, but before she could, Miles grabbed her chin tightly and lowered himself so they were eye level.

“Listen here, Little girl. You are mine and you can’t do anything about it.” His voice was deep and cold.

Storm processed his words for a second, staring into his eyes as she did. He couldn’t tell her she was his and she couldn’t do anything about it.

She went to open her mouth, but Miles’ grip on her chin tightened.

“Be quiet and listen to Daddy,” he said. “I want you to be a good girl and follow my orders.”

She tried to shake her head, but with his grip on her chin, it was nearly impossible. She didn’t want to be in this situation. Miles wasn’t her Daddy, and even though she wanted that more than anything, he had put her in danger and didn’t tell her. He claimed her without even asking her if that was what she would like.

“Someone is after you and right now you won’t be leaving my sight. If you need to pee, I’m going with you. You need to shower, I’m right there with you,” he said. “Anything, and I mean anything, I’m going to be right there with you. And if I can’t, then I’ll have two or three guards with you.”

Storm glared at him the best she could.

“I don’t need you to be with me. I don’t want you to be with me. Anywhere near me,” she said. It was hard talking when he had a death grip on her chin, but she needed to say those words. “I don’t want to be around you. You lost your chance. I want nothing to do with you.”

Miles chuckled and a dark look went over his face. Storm tried to get out of his grip, but he only tightened it more to where it was starting to hurt, keeping her head firmly in one place.

Right where she couldn’t avoid eye contact with him.

She tried to think of anything other than him standing right in front of her, but it was nearly impossible. With him holding her chin and being so close, she could smell the blood on him.

And she wanted to puke.

“Apparently you didn’t understand me. You don’t get a say in this. You’re mine and you can’t do anything about it,” he growled. “Do you understand me?”

Storm tried to come up with something to spout back to him, but she didn’t know what to say. What could she say that he would actually hear and understand?
