"I am."

I roll my eyes. "Your arm was over my waist when I woke up and your hard dick was pressing against my back."

He doesn't look even a little bit sorry, just disappointed he wasn't awake to experience our unintentional cuddling. Unintentional on my part anyway. The jury is still out on his intentions.

Yawning, he stretches his arms above his head. The covers slide down his muscled body and I swallow the moisture that pools in my mouth from the desire to taste his salty skin. Wetness pools somewhere else too, but we aren't talking about that.

Tilting his head first to one side, and then the other, he rolls his shoulders. "If you really want me to pay penance, make me sleep on that damn sofa a few more nights."

The idea is intriguing. I cannot lie. But I'm not giving him a chance to make up for his betrayal. If things go the way I want today, I won't care if he sleeps on my sofa a hundred nights. I won't be here to see it.

I rub between my heavy breasts, trying to assuage the instant pain that thought causes in my chest.

It's a good plan, damn it.

"I'm going to take a shower. Want to join me?" Atlas climbs out of the bed completely nude.

I spin away, but not before I get a full monty view of his morning erection. A condition I have happily taken full advantage of in the past weeks.

Not today. Not ever again, I remind myself.

Self harrumphs, not in the least impressed.

Pulling open the drawer with my leggings, I pull a pair of fleece lined black ones out. "I showered last night."

"Don't make breakfast. We'll go out," he says as he disappears into the bathroom.

Can he really be that oblivious, or is he pretending everything is fine because he's hoping eventually it will be? And why does he care? He got what he wanted.

Or at least he thinks he did.

The Greek mafia is about to find out that messing with a Cosa Nostra princess is dangerous.

Dressing quickly, I quietly sneak out of my bedroom when the shower goes on. The keys to Atlas's SUV are in the dish he's taken to using for them. Predictability can be a good thing.

I grab the keys, careful not to clink them together in my hand and head downstairs.

In my office, I take the sheaf of papers sitting in the printer tray and tuck them into my tote style purse. I created the sales contract on my phone last night during one of my restless bouts and then sent it to the printer.

Before Atlas joined me and I slept like a baby. Not something I want to analyze right now.

Opening the safe, certainty settles over me as I spy the manila envelope with legal documents I had drawn up, signed, witnessed and notarized as soon as I took possession of Nuovi Inizi's building. I stuff the large envelope in my purse too.

I grab one last item from the safe. My gun and the belt holster that will be hidden by my oversized sweater. After checking and loading it, I put the belt on and slide the twenty-two into the holster.

Thirty seconds later, I'm climbing into the driver's seat of Atlas's luxury SUV.

Chapter 35

LUCIA

When I arrive at the Rokos mansion, I roll down the window to talk to the guard. I recognize him as one of the men that was here guarding the gate when I came with Atlas the first time.

I dismissed all that mafia security as typical for billionaires, which it probably is. But I willfully blinded myself to the other similarities between the Greek mafia and the Cosa Nostra because I didn'twantto see syndicate when I looked at the Rokos lifestyle.

It wasn't just willful ignorance though. It has been decades since the Russo mafia moved into new territory. The idea that a mafia family would expand like Atlas and his brothers are doing for the Hades Brotherhood never occurred to me.

"I'm here to see Zeus," I tell the guard.
