Without giving it any real thought, I take Atlas's hand and lead him toward my office where Barry will be waiting with his team.

And so it begins. Friday night at Nuovi Inizi.

I won't be able to take a full breath again until the doors shut behind the last patron.

The night is every bit as busy as I anticipated. Chaos is on fire. Probably trying to impress Atlas into putting a good word in for him with the booking agent for Zesti.

No servers call in sick. The bouncers are focused. The bartenders and barbacks sling drinks with all the flair they're supposed to.

The music is loud. We are packed to capacity.

It should annoy me having Atlas hovering like he is, but it doesn't. He knows how to stay out of the way, but he also knows how to step in and help when I need it. I've never had that.

My staff are good at their jobs, but as they say,the buck stops here. There are too many fires only I can put out. No doubt because of experience with his family's clubs, Atlas knows how to help me douse the flames.

I warn myself not to get used to it.

Atlas isn't a permanent fixture in my life. This thing between us is about a minute old and new relationships fail as often as new nightclubs.

But he's still there. Later that night. And the next. And the next after that. The sex is incendiary.

Even though his inexplicable desire to get me pregnant does not abate. In fact, his insistence on holding his cum inside me is a huge turn on. Not that I'll ever admit that to him.

At times I wish my body could cooperate and at others I'm grateful for whatever made me incapable of conceiving again after the miscarriage.

Because the idea of having a baby is both tantalizing and terrifying.

Especially with Atlas as the father.

Nuovi Inizi is closed Sunday and Monday, but I still have work to do.

On Sunday, Atlas leaves while I'm in my office. He says he's going home to get fresh clothes and check in with his brothers, but I fully expect a call or a text saying he won't be back today.

Not because he doesn't intend to come back, but because no matter how intense this thing between us is, Atlas can't give all his time to me.

He has a life and he's in Portland to build a business with his family.

Chapter 12

ATLAS

Everyone is on the back deck when I get home. Zeus is grilling steaks and the scent of charred meat makes my mouth water.

It's not exactly barbecue weather, but it's not raining either. I don't take off my hoodie though.

"About time you showed your face." Zephyr punches me in the shoulder. "I thought you disappeared in that magic pussy."

I punch him back and he staggers. "Don't mention Lucia's pussy if you want to keep your tongue."

"It's true then, you're falling for her?" Orion hands me a bottle of my favorite beer from Santorini.

Lucia's customers aren't the only ones who like craft beer. "I'm keeping her."

"You think that's wise?" Wearing jeans and a polo, my middle brother still manages to look like a high-class lawyer.
