ATLAS
Lucia is passed out from pleasure and exhaustion beside me when the text comes in from my brother.
Zeus:Bears neutralized. Need you at the warehouse.
We bought the rundown warehouse before we even started looking for a place to live. Priorities.
And having a place to interrogate and intimidate is high on the list for men like us.
Atlas:One hour.
I send a text to Theo, who is on guard duty for the club tonight.
Atlas:Inside. Guard the door to upstairs.
Theo:You going to the warehouse?
One of the other soldiers must have let him know about the successful operation. Theo hadn't been happy to learn that he and the rest of my team were on guard and recon duty when shit was going down.
He'll get over it. They do what I need them to do.
Atlas:Yes.
Theo:I'll watch over your woman.
I don't bother to reply. Theo will be waiting for me outside the backdoor when I get downstairs.
After a military shower, I dress in a black t-shirt and jeans, strap on my weapons and pull on my leather jacket over the holstered gun and the knives strapped to my forearms. There's another knife in the sheath in my right combat boot and a gun strapped to my ankle.
The inside of my leather jacket is lined with throwing knives on both sides.
From now and until the bratva threat is neutralized, we will all be heavily armed wherever we go.
