“Harlan,” Beau drawled as he pushed himself off the ground. He stumbled for a moment before catching his balance. The driver’s door on the truck shut, and a man rounded the hood. He was a couple of inches taller than Beau with close-cropped dark hair. The black leather on his shoulders caught my eye, naming him the Road Captain of the Storm Hogs MC. His eyes were a striking shade of green, and his face was clean-shaven, revealing a strong, square jaw.

Were the other men in the Storm Hogs MC hot, too? Was that a requirement of being in the club?

Harlan snorted. “Brother, you arewasted.”

Beau waved him off. “Need to get my bike,” he told Harlan as he turned and reached out to help me off the ground. “Come on, goldie. Can’t be here all night.”

“Noooo,” I whined. “Don’t wanna move.”

Beau sighed and leaned down to help me, only to almost fall flat on his face. Harlan snorted as he caught Beau before Beau could crash down on top of me. “Get in the truck, brother. I’ll get her drunk ass up.”

“Don’t hurt her,” Beau warned, jabbing a finger into Harlan’s chest.

Harlan chuckled and patted Beau on the shoulder. “Wouldn’t dream of it.” Beau stumbled to the truck, and Harlan leaned down. Grabbing me beneath my arms, he hauled me off the ground and tossed me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing more than a sack of potatoes and began to walk to the truck.

“I can walk,” I grumbled, my arms dangling down his back.

Harlan barked out a laugh. “Right,” he muttered. He suddenly righted me and slid me into the backseat. I eyed the pillow and blanket there, sleep suddenly sounding inviting. Without a word and without waiting for an invitation, I placed my head on the pillow and pulled the blanket over me.

“You’re something else,” Harlan snickered before shutting his truck door.

“Sleep well,” Beau whispered. I felt his fingers touch my face, but sleep was already tugging me under.

“Fuck,”I wheezed, slowing the treadmill down a bit so I was no longer running. Beau chuckled from beside me, barely breaking a sweat as he slowed down as well. I worked out every day, unlike Beau who only worked out when he had the extra time and energy, but Beaudefinitelyhad more stamina than I did.

It was a little bit unfair, to be honest.

“Is this what dying feels like?” I panted, sweat making my hair cling to my face and neck.

Beau laughed now from deep within his belly. “You need to spend more of your workout running, goldie.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “You barely workout three times a week,” I teasingly snapped at him. “How is your stamina so great?”

He chuckled and shot me a wink. “Wouldn’t you love to know.”

My nipples hardened, and my core flooded with warmth. Fuck yes, I would love to know. Beau and I had been together almost four months now, and we still had yet to have sex. Sure, our make out sessions were hot as fuck, but we kept waiting. I was more than ready, but now it seemed like Beau was waiting for something. I didn’t know if it was the perfect moment or what, but I had a feeling when he finally gave in and slid inside of me, it was going to be fucking explosive.

Beau glanced at his smart watch and cursed. He hit the emergency stop button and jumped off the treadmill, quickly getting to work wiping it down. “What’s wrong?” I asked him, coming to a stop as well.

He grimaced. “Adler is going to fucking have my ass. I’m late.”

“Shit,” I cursed, quickly stopping my own machine. Beau had insisted on working out with me this morning since he’d been too tired to do so the past couple of nights. And now he was going to pay for it.

He passed me the towel and disinfectant spray before grasping my face in his hands and pressing his lips to mine in a short kiss. “I’ll see you this evening, yeah? Text me what you want for dinner.”

Then, he was sprinting out the door. I sighed, staring after him, my heart pitter-pattering in my chest just from that quick kiss.

Beau had no idea what kind of hold he had over me.

I glanced over my shoulder when the door opened, smiling when I saw three women walking, one of them being Harbor. I quickly stepped down from the stepstool I’d been on, trying to arrange my latest selection of cups on the very top shelf.

“Hi!” I exclaimed, beaming at them. I hadn’t run into Harbor since we’d met at the fast food restaurant, and it was nice to see her again, especially since she had ties to Beau.
