“Absolutely! Here.” Ava handed her the key just as her phone started ringing, pulling it from her pocket she glanced at it and hit the end button. “It’s only Mark. Do you need a ride to get your stuff?
Before Desi could respond, Ava’s phone rang again. “Hold on, it’s him again. Hey!” she said, answering it. “I’m at the spa with Destiny she’s moving in upstairs, why, what’s up?”
Desi could hear him through the speaker but couldn’t make out what he was saying.
“Oh!” Ava’s brows came together as she stepped away. She spoke a few minutes then said, “I’ll be right down.” Ending the call, she looked at Desi. “Um... we have a bit of a situation here. How would you feel about having a few roomies until after the wedding?”
“Do I know them?”
Ava nodded, “You’ve met.”
“I guess, I mean it is your house. If they aren’t party animals, I’m fine with it then.”
“Well, two are... animals I mean...”
When Desi sent her look of confusion Ava said, “It’s Brutus, Molly... and my brother.”
Chapter 7
“You’re joking right?” Lane couldn’t believe the words that Mark spewed from his mouth.
“Sorry man, I’m not. After we went outside last night, Kim told her the inn was booked, and they needed to find her a place to stay. Ava overheard and offered the rooms above the spa.”
Lane brushed a fly away that was buzzing around his head. It wasn’t that he hated Destiny but he sure as hell was suspicions of her and he still wasn’t entirely convinced his sister wasn’t trying to play match maker. Ava couldn’t be up to that thought, her and Desi had already made the plans last night.
He was ready to just suck it up and stay with the unwelcomed guests at Ben and his mom’s place, but then he had a thought. What better way to keep an eye on someone that you have doubts about, then to live with them?
“It’s fine. We’re both adults, I’m sure we can get along amicably.”
“Exactly, and she can cook, so no worries there!” Mark said.
“Good point,” Lane nodded as they heard Ava unlock the door and opened it.
“Hi!” She said, looking a little nervous.
“What’s wrong?” Mark asked.
