Liv:I say yes. *pic of Jon*

“When did you take that?”

She says nothing but continues to smile and sip her wine.

I roll my eyes.

Me:Not interested.

Gerri:Sorry. I was busy saving someone’s life.

Cora:Oh, look at Gerri, being a surgeon. *gif of golf clap*

Gerri:Rude.

Cora:It’s my defining characteristic.

Liv:Back to Avery and Jon sitting in a tree.

How am I the youngest one in this mess of a family? I mean, I’m pretty immature, so you have to understand that if I am calling my siblings immature, it’s bad.

Fritz:Why am I on this text? I’m in Puerto Rico.

My brother and his wife travel for work. She’s the host of a travel show that features cuisine.

Me:Can I come see you?

Fritz:No, we’re flying back tomorrow.

Fritz:Who the hell is Jon, and why are you living with him?

I sigh and give my sister another nasty look. Before I can answer, I hear the back door open, and Mason walks in. My sister’s boyfriend is smiling, but that’s Mason. He’s almost a decade younger than my sister and perfect for her. Jon follows him in, with Sammy behind and talking off Jon’s ear.

“Then, you have to ensure they’re ripe enough to be picked.”

I expect Jon to roll his eyes, but he doesn’t.

“How do you decide they’re ready to be picked?”

Sammy goes on a long diatribe about testing tomatoes and how you can tell if they are ripe enough to pick off the vine.

“Interesting,” Jon says.

“Jon, this steak is yours,” Mason says. I look at the steak.

“Let me guess, you like it well done.”

“Of course.”

I make a gagging noise.

“Avery.”

Oh, look at Liv wanting to behave like an adult.

Callie comes in smiling, and then she freezes when she sees Jon.

“Uh.”
