“How are you?” he asked gently.

“I—I don’t know. Ella is furious. I’ve never seen her so upset.”

“I know. I feel terrible.”

“She wants me to find out who the slutty bimbo is that you’re dating.”

“She said that?”

I nodded, allowing my eyes to fill with tears. Dylan wrapped an arm around me and pulled me into him. I tried my hardest to keep my makeup from running onto his white shirt, but he held me so tight that all I could do was accept it.

“She’s never going to forgive either of us,” I stammered. “We need to just tell her. Get it out in the open before someone else tells her.”

“Are you serious? You can’t possibly think that’s the best option right now.”

“I don’t know what to think, Dylan. I just feel bad and I want to make it right.”

“Telling her is not going to fix things. It will probably just make it worse, especially tonight.”

I wiped my tears and nodded my head. I knew he was right, but that didn’t make it any easier.

“Besides,” he said, “once she gets some sleep tonight and has some time to think about it, she’ll probably realize that it wasn’t that big of a deal.”

“It wasn’t that big of a deal? You’ve seen social media recently, right? Everyone wants to know about Dylan Woods’ secret lover.”

“I know, but it will blow over. It always does.”

“People are saying it’s Taylor Swift.”

“Eh, she’s not really my type,” he said with a shrug.

“Oh really? Why not?”

“Because she’s not you.”

My stomach did a flip. My eyes started to fog again, but for a completely different reason. This man was truly perfect. I couldn’t believehewas in love withme.

He leaned in to kiss me, and I wanted to let myself get carried away. I wanted to fall into him and climb on top of him. I wanted to roll around with him and feel his lips wandering every inch of my body.

“Someone is going to see us,” he whispered, his mouth pressed against my neck.

I reluctantly pulled away from him and smiled.

“I guess we’ll just have to wait until we’re alone,” I said with a wink as I stood up and walked back outside.

For the restof the evening, I had to force myself not to look at Dylan. I danced with the other bridesmaids and tried to forget my guilt, but every time I got near Ella, I felt it all over again. There was no amount of champagne that was going to let me forget.

As I was dancing, I felt a set of hands grab my hips from behind. Instinctively, I pressed my ass into the mysterious stranger, assuming that it was Dylan. We swayed together and I felt his warm breath on my neck. He was starting to get harder with every movement, and all I wanted was to feel him up against me even more. I let loose and danced up against him for far too long before I looked up and saw Dylan watching me from across the room.

I jumped away from my dance partner to see Jonas’ brother standing behind me. I hurried off the dance floor as quick as I could, now feeling immensely more guilty than I had just moments ago.

I was certain that Dylan wasn’t going to like that. I know I wouldn’t have if the roles had been reversed. When I searched for Dylan again, I realized that the shock must have been written all over my face. When I finally found Dylan in the crowd, he was doubled over in laughter.

When he eventually regained his composure, he smiled at me and gave me a thumbs up. I rolled my eyes at him, but all I could think about was how he was going to feel against me later tonight. I couldn’t wait for the reception to end so that I could finally have him all to myself.

Between the dancing, drinking, and stolen glances between Dylan and I, midnight came quickly and with it, the end of the reception. We sent Ella and Jonas off with sparklers and cheers, but in my mind, I was really cheering for the alone time that I was finally going to get with Dylan.

Our eyes met from across the room and he winked at me before disappearing into the darkness outside of the tent. I glanced around to make sure no one was watching me, and then I followed him out.
