Dylan looked down at me with a devilish grin on his face, and I knew he was thinking the same thing as me.

“So…” he asked, “bed, balcony, or shower?”

I laughed and stood on my toes to reach his mouth with mine. No matter how many times I kissed him, it was like the first time every time. He was gentle and loving with me, but I could also sense his passion each time. He was, by far, the sexiest man I knew, and he never let me forget that fact.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me, slipping my tongue inside his mouth and letting it explore. His chest vibrated with a low growl, and I knew he was about to treat me to a night I would never forget.

He reached down and grabbed me under my ass and lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around him as he carried me towards the bedroom. It felt oddly familiar as he set me down on the bed, but it was somehow completely different from the first time, too.

There were no more secrets or lies. There was no more hatred or hard feelings. There was only love and fiery passion. Dylan climbed on top of me with a smirk and started to remove my clothes. Each piece came off slowly, and I let him enjoy the view as he went.

I relaxed into the bed as he pulled off my pants and ran his hands up and down my legs. Then as he sat me up to remove my shirt and bra, he got the same look on his face as he always did when he saw me naked. It was a look of desire and respect, and one that I had come to love each time I saw it.

“Have I told you lately that you’re completely perfect?” he asked as his lips started to wander up and down my chest and stomach.

“You have, but it’s worth repeating.”

“Well, you, my dear, are completely and utterly perfect in every possible way.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing you say that.”

“I’m never going to get tired of telling you.”

I let out a long breath as his lips moved across my body and pleased me in all the ways I had come to know and love.

The next evening,Dylan and I met up with Ella and Jonas for dinner at one of the nicest restaurants in Miami. Dylan insisted that it was to celebrate my birthday, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t kind of hoping for something more.

As we were seated, the waiter delivered a bottle of wine to the table. After it had been poured, Jonas picked up the bottle and stared at the label in disbelief.

“Dude,” he muttered.

“What?” Dylan asked.

“I know you’re, like, filthy rich, but this is a little excessive.”

“Is it? I just asked for the nicest bottle they had.”

“Well, yeah. This one is pretty nice I would say.”

Ella and I glanced at each other, and she immediately pulled out her phone. She looked at the label on the bottle and typed it into the search bar. Her jaw dropped and when she turned the phone to face me, mine did, too.

“Dylan!” we both said in unison.

He shrugged and picked up his glass.

“I just wanted tonight to be special.”

I felt my heart flutter a bit. He was the most amazing man in the world, and I had to pinch myself daily to remember that he was mine.

“I’m so glad Ella and Jonas could be here with us this weekend, but most of all, I am so happy to be here with you, Grace, the love of my life.”

I blushed as I picked up my glass of wine.

“Happy birthday, my love,” he said, leaning over to kiss my cheek.

We clinked our glasses together and then did the same with Ella and Jonas. I felt my heart swell as I sat with the most important people in my life. There was truly nothing better than a weekend away with the ones I loved most.

After an eveningof way too much food, and the most incredible wine I had ever tasted, we all decided to take a walk on the beach. It was the middle of winter, but the warm breeze coming off the ocean was enough to thaw our frozen New York hearts.
