“Ha!” Eros thrust one fist in the air, the other brandishing his phone. “Check it out. Zeus fellallthe way to the bottom. We’re all ahead of him now, even Hades.”

“Congratulations,” Gany said dryly.

“Wait,” Finn said. “What’s going on with these guys, anyway?”

Gany huffed an exasperated breath. “They’resupposedto be atoning for their past behavior. Making restitution to their victims.” Gany swiveled to face Eros and raised his voice. “Becoming better people.”

Eros frowned. “Easy for you to say. I mean, look at Zeus. He thought he was making restitution to you, but he got bounced to the bottom of the hill for it. How are we supposed to know how to fix things?”

“You can do what I did,” Finn said with a shrug. “Admit you were wrong. Apologize.”

Eros looked sincerely bewildered. “What?”

“Tell whoever you hurt that you’re sorry andask themwhat you can do to make amends.”

“But… but that’shumiliating!”

“Trust me, I know. But”—Finn shrugged again—“you did the crime, pal. This is how you do the time.”

The dogs’ ears perked up, and all three heads swiveled to look at the open door an instant before Gany heard his phone ringing faintly from the bedroom.

Finn shook his head. “That’s so weird. It’s like they’re one… Wait a minute.” He goggled. “Sir. Bear. Ozzie. They’re not— You— This isn’t—”

Gany patted his arm. “Yes. They used to be Cerberus. They get a second chance too. But that’s my phone, so…”

Gany rushed inside and down the hall to the bedroom to scoop up his phone from the nightstand. “Hello?”

“Hey, Gary. This is Del. Sorry for the late call, but it looks as though we’ll need more than one server to help with your cake. They’ll be compensated, of course.”

With the bakery closed until Monday, Melina and Peyton would be free. “Would three be enough?”

“Six would be better. You’ll manage it. The other caterers will be using the main Wildwood kitchen, but there’s a secondary kitchen next to it. It’s a bit smaller and is used for… specialty work.”

“Specialty? You mean like pastry?”

“Something like that. You can set up there any time after eight.” Del chuckled. “Now, I’ve got to run. It’s my wedding day.”

Gany stared at the phone after Del disconnected. Where was he going to get three more servers? He couldn’t exactly rope Eros, Artemis, and Apollo into service. That would be begging for trouble.

“Hey.” Finn was suddenly there, wrapping an arm around Gany’s waist and kissing the spot between his eyebrows. “What’s wrong?”

“I somehow have to find three more servers for the wedding, in addition to you and Peyton and Melina.” He paused, one of Eros’s comments coming back to him. “And what did he mean, one of my employees is a witch?”

Finn chuckled and kissed Gany’s lips softly. “We’ll talk. In the meantime, as for servers, I might know some guys.” Finn kissed him again. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. My pack has got your back.”

“Whoa.” Hector—one of Tanner’s Doghouse pack mates who’d volunteered to help when Finn called—stared into the Nectar & Ambrosia window, his nose nearly pressed against the glass. “I didn’t know this place was here.”

“It opened a few months ago,” Finn said. “I’ve been coming every day since then. My, ah, boyfriend owns it.” Finn buried a wince at theBword, not because he didn’twantit or becausehewasn’t there yet, but because he and Gary—no,Gany, and Finn still couldn’t wrap his head aroundthatlittle piece of intel—hadn’t put a name on what they were yet.

“Awesome.” Gage, one of the other guys, patted his flat stomach. “Think they’ll have any snacks for us today? Always room for pastries, am I right?”

“I’m not sure. There was an incident yesterday. Not quite a fire, but all the existing stock was ruined. Gan— Gary’s keeping the place closed until Monday so he can focus on this wedding.”

“Cool.” Dakota, the third member of the trio, grinned at Finn. “We’ll come over and help celebrate the reopening. But for now, let’s get this done.” He smoothed his hands down his white button-down and patted the seat of his black jeans. “Will we have monogrammed aprons? I’ve always wanted a monogrammed apron.”

Hector lifted both eyebrows. “You have? Why?”

Dakota shrugged. “When people have their names actually stitched onto their clothes it feels, I dunno, special.”
