“My shoulder and arm are burning something fierce.” I reply as I take the sleeve of my top away from my arm so I can look at the area that is sore. The whole top of my arm and shoulder is red and welts are starting to appear that feel like pin pricks.

“Oh” his suddenly guilty look tells me that he knows something about my condition which I’m unaware of.

“What…” I cry out as I try to massage the area for the pain to pass, “What’s oh?”

“Here, let me help you.” He says as he pulls my hand away and places his palm cupped over my shoulder. “I’m sorry,” he mutters, “the pain will go away soon.”

“Sorry for what, what did you do?” I cry trying to pull away, but his other hand has snaked around my hip and is holding me in place.

“Trust me, just relax and the pain will be gone soon.” To be fair the pain where his hand is cupping does feel slightly less painful, but my arm is still burning. “My mark is manifesting on your arm.” He states.

“Your mark?” What the hell is he talking about? “What mark?”

“I was trying to tell you before this happened, I’m an Elemental.” He asserts with a nod as he moves his hand from my shoulder slightly down to my upper arm.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I cry, I swear if he doesn’t start making sense I’m going to scream. He keeps repeating that he is an Elemental, is that some kind of nationality that I have never heard off

“It means that I’m not human,” he stops, a frown appearing before he continues. “Well, not totally human.”

I shake my head, is this a vision? Maybe, I’m having a vision. Then I feel his hand move again, no, if it was a vision, I wouldn’t feel the heat of his palm on my skin. Smell his unique essence of leather and sandalwood around me. Maybe I was right before, maybe the Goddess of light did send me a God.

“When you touched me, it started our bonding,” he reveals, “you are my mate, the only woman that can bring peace to my soul.” His words leave me speechless; this can’t be true. “See, you have my mark.”

I look down at my upper arm, at first I’m not sure what I’m seeing, my brain seems to be in a fog. Then suddenly everything seems to come clashing back into place and I shriek. Jumping back I bring my right hand up to my left upper arm and shoulder and gasp. “No, no, no” I cry, “this isn’t possible!” I start scrubbing at the tattoo like markings on my skin, how can this be?

The skin is still red, but there are dark marks looking nearly like a tattoo. The only thing that is different from my mark and a tattoo is that my skin is slightly swollen. “How does this go away?” I ask as the rubbing is not helping, if anything its making my skin start to hurt again.

“It doesn’t, your mark is the same as mine.” Haldor says as he lifts his sleeve, “see,” I can feel my heart pounding. His tattoo is the same but in a bigger scale as it reaches up to his elbow and disappears up around his shoulder under his t-shirt.

“I don’t know what to say, this can’t be true.” I don’t even know if I believe what just happened. How is this possible, how can someone miraculously get a tattoo from one minute to another. Could what he says be true? Haldor places his hand on my cheek, the touch has me jumping in surprise. I quickly step back, “don’t touch me!” I mutter, “you should leave.”

He moves so quickly that I don’t even see it until I am flush against his body, his hand under my chin lifting my face up to his. “I will never leave you, leaving would bring both of us pain.”

“Don’t be absurd, we only met a few minutes ago.” my answer is breathless, I bring my hand up between our bodies to push him away but he’s not allowing it. My words are saying one thing, but my brain is telling me another. What he has said seems farfetched, but they are resonating truthfully within me.

“Forget everything you know, just feel.” He says as if he is reading my mind…is he?

“Just feel?” I argue, “what do you mean just feel…you do know this all sounds mental don’t you?” I feel his chest rise and fall with each breath he takes. How can he say he’s not human? His touch is warm, he breaths like humans do.

“Fuck, I’m sorry.” He grunts, “I will explain everything, I’m just not very good with words.” His reply has me huffing in agreement, I don’t think anything he could say would answer what just happened. “I know that everything that has happened so suddenly has overwhelmed you, I know that its unbelievable, but you can see by my mark on you that there is truth to what I’m saying.”

I can’t argue that fact, my stomach feels knotted with nerves. “Try” I plead, wanting to know everything, trying to make sense of what I would have thought was an impossibility.

He is looking deep into my eyes as he starts to speak, “An Elemental can live for centuries, and only end if we are killed or if we end our existence. Each of us is born to a certain element, mine is earth which means that I can manipulate the trees, or the ground where we are standing or the rocks.” He leans down and kisses my forehead.

I should object, but the action seemed so natural. “When we are born our souls are filled with light, but as time passes the light starts to leave us.” I can hear the pain in his voice, a pain that is palpable and no matter how much I want to not believe him in what he is saying, there is an undercurrent of truth in his pain. “The only way that we can save our sanity, our soul is by finding our mate.”

He places his hands on my shoulders pulling me away from him slightly, “For me, that mate is you.” After dropping that bomb, he leans down to place his lips over mine, a tingling spread from my lips all the way down to my toes. The only thought racing through my mind as he kisses me is that this man is dangerous and my suspicions were right, he is a God.

HALDOR 4

Druza’s lips on mine is like the juice of a sweet peach, intoxicating, mind blowing. My body is vibrating with energy, every cell in my body is alive. I have never felt this passion before like I am feeling at this moment. Druza’s body flush against mine, her breast rubbing against my chest as I kiss her has my body alive, screaming for release.

I wrap my arms around her body pulling her even closer to me, a sense of overpowering protection overwhelms me. This woman in my arms is mine, mine to take care of, keep safe and love for all eternity. I had never really believed that this day would come, that my mate would present herself before me in all her glory, praying to the Goddess of light. My woman is truly unique, truly special in every way.

I know that these feelings coursing through my mind, my body are the same as the ones coursing through hers. She will be overwhelmed and even suspicious as all of this that is happening will be something that she never envisioned before, but I will make sure that she isn’t scared of this change.

I am so engrossed in our kiss that I don’t hear the approach of another until it’s too late, my body rebels at the interruption. Breaking free from the kiss, I pull Druza behind me as I face the approaching man. A man that must be in his late twenties’ early thirties approaches, an angry look on his face as he stares at me.
