He sits on the bench, and I kneel in front of him and grab his hands.

Was I nervous the first time he met my brothers? Abso-fucking-lutely. But he did it for me. Because they were desperate to meet the man that had made their big brother happy. They’re my whole family, so it wouldn’t be right for me to deny him introducing me to his, even if it is a good forty-something more people than my own.

“I’d love to meet your family.”

His head rises, and those big, green eyes bore into my soul.

“But only if you want me to.”

“I wanted to ask you to come ages ago, but I thought it was too soon. Then I met your brothers, and I got to thinking about the cruise and the ship and how much I’ll miss you and…”

“It’s four days. Tell the truth. You’re freaking out about that tiny, tiny room, aren’t you?”

He playfully punches my arm. “That’s just mean. Why would you say that? It’s not going to be tiny. They told me it was big, it has a balcony, it has a window and light, and it’s…it’s… oh my god, now all I can think about is how tiny it’ll be. You suck.”

His body tenses as the thoughts of being trapped in a tiny space flood his mind, and even though we avoid PDA for the most part, I lean in and kiss him. His body relaxes into me, and after a second, he pulls away.

Jase looks around, checking for people watching, but it’s a closed practice and the team has already headed into the showers.

“I’d love to meet your family. You don’t have to invite the trio to get me on board.”

“They kind of invited themselves already.”

“Wait, what? How? When?”

“When I messaged them and asked if they thought me asking you to meet my parents was a bad idea?”

I laugh.“You asked my brothers for advice?”

“It sounded like a good idea at the time.”

“So, how did they end up inviting themselves along?”

“Well, Addy was telling me to just ask you, when Keiron suggested I send you a sing-a-gram but have the person be a sailor, ‘’cause, you know, the cruise ship.’”

I know exactly where this is going.

“Preston then thought I should dress as a sailor to ask you, and that had Keiron remembering a time he saw a stripper dressed as a sailor. Addy tried to end it there, but Preston suggested I ask you while I strip, and then Addy and Keiron agreed that would be better. Then Keiron asked if the cruise captain wears a uniform and how old he’d be. Preston said it could be a woman, then asked the same question.”

I’m biting my lower lip, trying to hide my smile, because I’m loving every fucking second of this recap.

“I told them I had no idea if the captain was a woman or man or wore a uniform like a stripper sailor, and they all agreed they should come along as chaperones and find out for themselves.”

I shake my head, laughing.

“I don’t know what happened.”

“It’s pointless trying to figure that out. It sounds like every one of my conversations with them.”

“I get why you call them the Trio of Chaos.”

I hold out a hand for him to help me up, but instead, tug him down onto the grass on top of me.

“So you’ll come?” he asks, pushing up to hold himself above me.

“I’ll come.”

“And we’ll take your brothers because I did sort of ask them. They’ll have fun. Oh, and they can meet Duckie. He’ll be pissed that I’m bringing a date, and having triplets as wingmen will soften the blow.”
