Her human form laughed a thrilling laugh at the maneuver. She was not as big as many of the wolves, certainly not big as the alphas, but she didn’t mind. Her wolf could do things and move in ways that would seem impossible to other wolves.

A red blur flashed overhead and she shrank back in shock, forcing herself to slow down. It took her a second to realize that Blake’s presence was stronger now than ever. He stopped in front of her and stood to his full height.

He towered over her by a full head when he stood on his haunches, his long mouth pulled back into something of a mix between a snarl and a grin. They didn’t share a mindlink yet, so their wolves couldn’t communicate with each other yet.

She had no desire to speak, regardless. At the moment, she was in awe of the magnificent beast that was standing before her. Blake’s wolf was majestic, and power pulsed out of him in thick, oily rivulets, drowning Eleanor and pounding against her senses.

She had no doubt that he could kill her with one blow if he felt like it. She imagined how it would have been the day he became the alpha of the Yellow Cicada pack. She couldn’t imagine any wolf standing in his way and challenging his right to lead the pack. He was just too powerful.

His fur was a deeper, bloodier shade of red than his hair when he was in his human form, and he lost all pretension of niceties when he looked like this. The only thing that radiated out of him wasdanger, danger, danger.

She loved it.

He turned around and leaped onto a rock, climbing and running with seemingly no effort. His strides were wide and powerful, and she wondered if she would be able to keep up with him as he tore through the forest.

The wolf was magnificent and powerful, and her own beast couldn’t hide her awe and admiration for Blake’s wolf.Hell, I married one hot specimen of man, she thought as she lunged up the face of the rock after him.I definitely could have done worse.

And he’s a formidable wolf too, her wolf reminded her.We could make strong pups with this one.

Not so fast, Eleanor chided. We don’t know if we’ll even be making pups with him at all. For now, we run. Run and enjoy the beauty of the forest.

She could sense that her wolf had a few reservations, but whatever she was thinking, she opted not to say it. Instead, she vaulted off a low branch and pounded the ground faster to catch up to Blake, who was steadily widening the gap between them.

When she caught up to him, he looked over and nodded briskly, impressed. They emerged from the forest and crossed the highway in one bound, out of Deepwood and entering Rhinestone woods.

Here, Blake took the lead, pushing slowly through the darkening forest. Eleanor didn’t know these parts as well as he did, and she was grateful for the change in pace.

A human would not have noticed the difference between the two forests. To them, it would have felt like one and the same. Eleanor felt it the moment she was inside Rhinestone woods. She didn’t feel a familiarity or kinship to the woods. She felt like an outsider. A stranger.

The scents were different, and the entire forest felt different to her, like she was a baby learning to walk. She followed close behind Blake, turning where he turned and jumping where he jumped.

He moved with a slick grace, the forest looking as if it was on fire with every step he took. His movements were timed to perfection, and his stride had shortened so that Eleanor could keep up with him in the waning light.

She had no idea how long they’d been tearing through the woods, but she didn’t want the run to end. After the day she’d just had, running in her wolf form was liberating. It felt even better to be doing so with Blake.

For the first time in weeks, she felt thoroughly alive. All of her nervousness, anxiety, and anger over the nature of her marriage to Blake melted and burned away until there was nothing left.

She focused only on doing what he did, moving in concert and rhythm with him. She jumped when he jumped, ducked when he ducked, and lunged when he did. It looked like a perfectly synchronized dance of sorts, one that was far too complicated to be taught properly.

By the time they broke through the cover of the trees, the sun had set completely and the sky was covered with stars. She recognized Blake’s house from the sharp angles and the massive windows that replaced most of the walls facing the forest.

Blake slowed to a halt and walked the rest of the way to the fountain in the middle of the driveway. Eleanor followed closely behind him, her senses still filled with the forest she’d just emerged from.

Blake transformed first and had a huge grin on his face as he bent down to grab his knees. He barked out a loud laugh and drew in a deep breath. “Wow! Now that’s how to run!”

He turned to Eleanor and his laughter froze on his face. Eleanor was confused and was about to ask him what had happened when she realized that she had transformed as well.

Blake’s eyes slowly, intimately, strolled down from her face, to her slender neck, to her full, massive breasts, covered in mud and grime. His eyes lingered on her belly button, up her legs, until they settled on the little v-patch of hair just above her groin.

His hazel eyes glimmered with unmasked hunger, and Eleanor’s eyes settled on his cock, which had slowly started to harden. She felt exposed by his naked lust and desire, but deep down, she enjoyed it.

She knew that she was an attractive woman by any standard, but it still felt good to have him drink her in the way he was doing. She felt hot in her insides and her nipples grew hard with pleasure.

She couldn’t peel her eyes away from his cock, and it continued to grow. She shivered at the length and girth of it, and she imagined it buried deep inside her. The thought terrified her, but she wanted it with all her heart.

She wanted him to take her, there and then, in the middle of the courtyard, covered in needles, dried leaves, and mud. The thought of it sent her mind spinning out of control. She could have him, she knew. He wanted her too.

She had no idea how long they stood there, tearing each other apart with their eyes, but eventually, Blake blinked. Eleanor blushed furiously and was glad that he couldn’t make out the blush in the darkness.
