EPILOGUE

XOAN

"It's cute," Indi woundher arms around my waist and swayed gently.

I huffed into her hair, watching the way the dark strands parted to expose the new purple sheen underneath. "Only you would think a four story mansion was cute," I noted.

"Well, it's beautiful, and stunning, or maybe it’scute." She created air quotes with one hand and snuggled me with the other.

My heart throbbed with the contact, taking the heat of her body into mine. "You're fucking cute. I'm gonna fuck you the first chance I get."

She looked up at me with a crinkled brow and turned up lips. "Is that all you think about? Sex?"

I stared off into the distance for a second, pretending to think. "Uh huh."

"Liar."

"Am I?" I raised an eyebrow, staring down into those pretty midnight eyes of hers, filled with starlight even though the sun was still out.

"Yes. I've heard you humming bars of things in the middle of the night and recording them on your phone. Hell, I've even seen you take notes and write down lyrics in the middle of the night. That’s not all sex.” She waggled a finger in my face.

I caught her hand and nipped it gently. "You have, have you? Maybe we should take separate rooms."

The little kitten growled at me. She actually growled.

"You wouldn't dare.”

I smirked. "Try me, goth girl.”

She tossed hair and stalked up the front steps of the southern looking mansion that was completely out of place in the California desert that bordered on the woodlands outside Rippton U. But our new share house left us within walking distance to classes without the need for suburbia or neighbours. "Not if I get there first."

Her patent leather purple boots came up her thighs, wrapped in matching fishnets. I wanted to wiggle my fingers through the stockings and rip them apart so I could shove my cock into her tight little body.

With heels that could've been mistaken for small skyscrapers, she dashed up the stairs and straight into the house colliding with Nick Jessop lugging a big box in his arms who held the door open with his ass.

"Wow. Shoes off in the house, honey."

"That's unlikely to happen. She lives in boots."

Nick grimaced. "Give a little, take a little."

"See how flexible he is?" She shot me a cheeky as fuck kitten pout over her shoulder as she dashed past him. You should try being a little bit more relaxed."

I sorted. She might have helped me face a few demons, but relaxing probably was one I'd never conquer.

“Ha ha. I'll get right on that."

Nick gave me a sympathetic glance as I went straight inside the house, bringing with me the small suitcase of both our things that fit into one large suitcase, our lives contained within the zipped up halves. Two guitar cases were slung across my back, and I gripped the straps over my chest tight.

"You cling to that almost as tight as Chloe clings to her rackets." Nick snorted, shutting the door behind me. He held out a hand. "Welcome to the house."

"Thanks." I shook, surprising myself with a smile on my face, unbidden.

"Don't go all emotional on me, man. Music I can put up with. Just don’t go serenading my girl.” He held an arm open, and a slim blonde with long, toned legs slipped into his embrace, snuggling into his shoulder.

My heart clenched, my mind drifting back to my own girl who disappeared up the stairs, no doubt to hunt out bedrooms. "You guys look cosy."

The blonde nodded. "I just want a place free of media and fanclubs where I can stop." She bounced on her heels, flicking her ponytail, and hit Nick in the face.
