He eats the sound and angles my head for better access. Both his hands hold me in position. His calloused skin ignites my cheeks.

You’re a breath of fresh air. I worried about not matching up to his other women, but his words and this reverent kiss delete all those stupid preconceptions, shredding them into the stupid plush carpet.

A tap on glass pulls us from the stupor of lust, and Gio backs away but keeps bracketing my face. He lowers his forehead to mine, ignoring the audience. “Do you want us to leave?”

I shake my head no. This is his world, and I might feel like a fish out of water, but I want to experience his domain. All the other women he brought here were probably dazzled. I can’t blame him for assuming I’d feel the same.

He touches my lips lightly one more time and turns. Spreading his arms across the backrest, he leans back. He might be sprawled on the sofa casually, but there is nothing casual about the power he emits. A king in his court.

He assesses Haughty Bun, who keeps tapping her nails on the glass vitrine and then pulls his phone out, his expression utterly bored.

“Let us take your measurements and we’ll bring out some pieces for you to try.” She beckons a young man with tailor tape around his neck in my direction.

I stand up. “I’m size ten. Get me a swimsuit, beach dress, casual evening dress, two T-shirts and shorts. Let’s get this all done in under fifteen minutes please.” I smile at Haughty Bun, and she blinks several times.

“Shorts?” gasps Tailor Tape.

“Mr. Cassinetti?” Haughty Bun’s question comes with a high-pitched edge.

Gio doesn’t even look up. “You heard the lady. The clock is ticking.” And while his voice carries his typical aloofness, a slight smile pulls at his lips.

Haughty Bun loses all color from her cheeks and jerks her head to her assistant, who scurries away. “We’ll be right back, Ms. Ward.”

While Gio continues to work, I peruse the glass cabinets. The pieces on display are elaborate, clad with stones of different shapes and sizes, but my eyes catch a simple chain with an intricate butterfly pendant of rose gold wires and tiny emeralds.

Tailor Tape wheels in a rack of clothes. Ha! The plush carpet is not very practical. He stops at the edge of the room by a door I didn’t notice before. He pushes the rack inside of what looks like another living room and looks at me expectantly.

“The changing room,” he stutters.

“Thank you.” I smile at him. As awkward as this is, he’s only doing his job. “I don’t think I need to try anything. Let me see.”

I prance over to him and start swiping through the hangers. I don’t think the poor man has ever been so shocked, and I bite the inside of my mouth to stifle a laugh.

It only takes me two minutes to choose a few items. “I guess I would need sandals.”

“And lingerie.” Gio surprises us both. My eyes widen and heat spreads over my cheeks. I’m no prude, but Jesus...

“Of course.” Tailor Tape runs away.

I put my hands on my hips. “Gio.”

He looks up from his phone.

“You could have just told me we’re going to the Caribbean and I could have packed all I need. This is ridiculous, and such a waste.”

He flinches and crosses the room so fast I can’t even react. He snakes his arm around my waist and yanks me to him. His solid muscles envelope me in his masculine scent, and I almost moan from the sheer explosion of sensations.

“I wanted to treat you, and for future reference, you will always let me treat you.” The dark undertone in his voice rumbles through me, settling with heat in my core. My breath hitches and I nod. “Besides, nothing is a waste when it comes to you, Princess.”

“Thank you, Tarek, that will be all. We’ll see you tomorrow.” Gio dismisses the personal chef who has just prepared a four-course dinner for us.

“Actually, if it’s okay, I’d like to cook tomorrow.” I bite my lip.

I can’t really cook, but I was hoping to spend time alone with Gio. We were alone in the Lambo, but that’s about it. The personal shopping assistants, the flight crew, the driver, the chef, the housekeeper. Ever since we’ve arrived in this paradise, someone has been around.

I want to experience Gio in his own domain, with all these comfortable and at times annoying luxuries, but this is our first date. Call me selfish, but I want the man for myself.
