Giselle flicked her gaze to me, her smile radiant and contagious. “You think so”

My heart soared in my chest. “Yes, I think so. What do I get then?”

“You get to name them. Happy?”

I leaned over and kissed her forehead. “More than you can imagine.”

“Close your eyes,” Lilianna whispered to us from the crowd. She’d set up this gender reveal party herself, so Giselle and I had no idea what to expect.

“Why?” I whispered back.

Giselle hit my stomach lightly with her elbow. “Do as she says.”

I obliged, closing my eyes, trying my best to ignore the anticipation bubbling in my chest. I’d never thought a day would ever come when I’m anxious about becoming a father.

“Ready?” Lilianna asked.

I nodded and Giselle whispered, “Yes.”

“Open your eyes at the count of three,” Lilianna instructed. Her voice was loud with excitement. Was she that happy that she was becoming an aunt? “We’ll start counting now, okay?”

“Okay,” Giselle and I answered in unison.

“One!”

“Two!”

“Three!”

My eyes shot open, then widened at the burst of vibrant blue and pink Holi powder.

A gasp erupted from the crowd as they raised their heads to look at the Holi powder suspended in the air. Laughter, cheers, and thunderous clapping of hands.

Giselle and I looked at each other, both of our faces nearly splitting in halves with a smile. She threw her hand over her mouth in excitement and her eyes sparkled with amusement at my obvious surprise.

“Can you believe it? We’re having a boy and a girl.”

I stepped closer to her, cupped her cheeks and claimed her lips. I kissed her softly, savoring the flavors of strawberries that she’d eaten before the gender reveal and not minding the crowd cooing around us.

When I stepped back, I peered into her eyes. “How did you keep twins a secret? Thank you, Giselle. For loving me despite my flaws, and for giving me the best gift in the world.”

I wasn’t just going to be a father, I was going to have two children.

She flattened her palms on my chest. “None of this would have come true if it weren’t for you. Thank you, Nikolai.” She stood on her toes, snaked her arms around my neck and kissed me, sucking on my lips so softly and intensely my cock expanded in my slacks.

“You both might need to find a hotel room.”

Giselle pulled away and smiled at Vlad. “We may have to.”

I groaned, furious that he’d interrupted us.

Lilianna stepped beside him and propelled a white envelope to Giselle. “I thought you should have this.”

Giselle opened the envelope and took out an ultrasound photo of our babies. She ran a finger over it and tears welled in her eyes. “They’re beautiful,” she croaked, her voice shaking with happiness.

A tear slipped through, and she wiped it off. “Thank you, Lilianna.”

“I’m going to cry if you do.” Lilianna stepped forward and hugged Giselle, patting her back. “We’re family. It’s what we do.”
