Drop.

Steal valuables.

Simple. It always has been. After so many years, my body moved on its own.

My steps were silent against the plush carpet as I stalked into the dim study. The curtains were closed save for a small opening that gave me a sneak peek at the shimmering night sky. It was just enough light for me to make out the room.

Luxurious imported furniture, lush carpets that perfectly conceal my approach. Shelves on either side of me shone with medals and awards, my masked reflecting catching off of a few of them.

And right in the middle, sat the target in his chair, his back toward me and his front facing the closed, dark red curtains. The only thing separating us was the mahogany desk between us.

The sounds of him fucking his secretary’s throat rang through the room. He grunted and whispered something to her under his breath, but I couldn’t quite make it out.

The rest of the room was dark—no doubt he wanted to keep what was happening in here his dirty little secret all while his wife and kids were downstairs, none the wiser that his cock was being warmed by a person who had spent Christmas holidays with them. Her husband hadn’t shown up tonight, and I didn’t have to wonder why.

I hated people like them the most. Hated how little they manipulated the people around them just so they could get five minutes of pleasure. They thought they could do whatever. They thought no one would think twice, even as they destroyed their families.

But they were wrong. And I was here as Karma’s messenger.

I had only caught a glimpse of her on their way in. I almost pitied him for being in the wrong place at such an awful time. He was a twisted, disgusting man, but he wasn’t the reason I was here. If they hadn’t snuck away, he may have had a chance to live.

But that pity only lasted a second.I had a job to do.Plus, her seeing this would only make that much more of an impact.

Light music filtered in from the hallway, a constant reminder that I had but ten minutes before our next interruption. Guards, not just from the man, but many of the other important businessmen lying in wait for any hint of danger. Voices and laughter from below floated up the stairs, only to be muffled by the doors and drowned out by their noises.

I fixed the mask on the lower half of my face and readied the heavy knife in my hand.

The party downstairs provided the perfect cover for me to sneak in. My name for the night was Tara Knight, but no one even bothered to check my ID as I walked in with the confidence of everyone else there that night.

But in all honesty, if they had, it wouldn’t have stopped me anyway.

The shrill ringing of his phone caused him to jump in his chair. I paused in my steps as he scrambled to dig his phone from his pocket.

“Foster?” he asked with a slightly out-of-breath tone. I caught sight of him pushing down the girl’s head.

Her gagging filled the air. His hips bucked in the chair, causing the seat to squeak.

A muffled voice filtered through the phone.

“What?” he asked. “I hadn’t seen anyone come up here besides me.”

Alarm bells went off in my head.Had I been careless?I had already managed to lose the eyes of his main men, but did he have plain-clothed ones that I hadn’t managed to see?

That would be a first.I may have just come back from an international stint, but I wasn’tcareless.

“Okay, I’ll leave in just a moment. Just let me—hurry up, sweetheart. We have to get out of here.”

Disgust filled me.Well, better now than never.

“That’s right—ah. Take it like a good girl, and I’ll get you that purse you wanted.”

As soon as he placed the phone back in his pocket, I lunged over the desk and sliced my knife across his throat with the same precision I kept with all my kills. Blood splattered all over the woman in front of him and on my clothing and mask. His body jerked against me as he fought the inevitable.

It only took a few seconds before his body went limp, the woman was too shocked at what she had seen to process what she should do next. She froze, her hand still on his cock and her mouth just centimeters away from his head.

It happened so fast that she didn’t even have the time to realize she was now holding a dead man’s cock.

“Scream, and I’ll kill you,” I warned as I met her widened hazel eyes.
