“Truth.”

“Yell the first word that comes to your mind.”

“Pussy!” Maddox calls out, and we all crack up laughing.

“Is that all you think about?” Emerson asks him.

“Yes.” He nods, and there’s not a single ounce of hesitation in his answer. “Emerson, truth or dare?” Maddox asks, and I sit up straighter in my chair. Leaning forward, I rest my elbows on my knees, and for the first time tonight, it’s okay to keep my eyes trained on her.

“Dare.” She grins.

Fuck.

Maddox takes his time, looking around the fire at each of us before he turns his attention back to Emerson. “I dare you to give Roman a lap dance for a full minute.”

My body freezes. I want to scream out no, that I can’t handle that. I can’t handle that delicious body of hers taunting me in front of them. In front of her brother, my lips remain sealed.

“Easy,” Emerson says, standing.

“I can’t watch this.” Forrest stands as well. “Anyone need a beer?” Legend and Lachlan raise their hands while the rest of us decline. He stalks off toward the house, and it’s not until the patio door opens and closes, do Emerson’s eyes meet mine.

“Who’s got the music?” Emerson asks, her gaze still locked with mine.

“I got you,” Maddox tells her.

I assume he’s tugging his phone out of his pocket to queue up some music, but I can’t be sure because I can’t take my eyes off the beauty who’s taking small, calculated steps toward me. When she reaches me, she smiles, and I know with that one look, I’m fucked.

On instinct, I widen my legs, allowing her room to step between them. My hands itch to grip her hips and pull her onto my lap, but instead, I grasp the arms of the chair I’m sitting in. I can do this. I can resist this woman. Ihaveto resist her.

“Ready, Em?” Maddox asks.

“I’m ready,” she calls back, never taking her eyes off mine.

When “Freak Me” by Silk starts to play, I bite down on my cheek. It’s been years since I’ve heard this song, and I’ll give Maddox credit. It’s perfect for this moment. For the way I feel about her.

Panic rises in my chest. Does he know I want her? I don’t have time to dwell on it when she starts to seductively dance for me. She sways her hips in a slow, seductive roll as she lifts her arms in the air.

The oversized sweatshirt hides her body, but that’s okay. I know what lies beneath, pure sin. My eyes roam over every inch of her until I reach her gaze. She’s watching me intently. The song continues to play, but I barely hear it as she turns. She thrusts her hips back, and her ass makes contact with my lap. I’m hard as steel, and with the way she grinds against me, she likes it. I continue to clutch the arms of the chair, but my patience is wearing thin. I want to hold her hips and thrust up into her. However, I remain still as she continues to have her way with me.

This is the longest sixty seconds of my life.

“Time!” Maddox calls, and the cheers erupt as the music cuts off.

Emerson stands to her full height and makes her way back to her chair without a second glance at me. She tucks her legs back beneath her, but she doesn’t drag her hoodie back over her for warmth. I’m burning up with desire for her, and I can only hope that she’s just as affected. I shouldn’t think that way. I shouldn’t want her to feel anything, but the asshole in me craves the knowledge like a bee craves honey.

“Good, I missed it,” Forrest says, passing out the beers to those who wanted one and taking his seat. “I think we’ve had enough truth or dare for one night,” he says.

“I have a client in the morning, so I need to jet,” Maddox says, standing.

“You good to drive?” Monroe asks him.

“Yeah, it’s been a few hours, and I only had two.”

“I’m out too,” Lachlan says, and Legend stands with him.

“You’re my ride,” Legend reminds us.

“You good to drive?” Monroe repeats her previous question.
