I’d jump off the edge of the earth if he asked me to. He grins and plants another sweaty kiss on my lips before smacking my ass and jogging back to his teammates.

I turn back to my friends, my cheeks firing up even more at their smirks. I mutter a, “shut up,” as I climb back over the fence and settle in my seat.

“Patty’s?” Ellie asks.

Ronnie’s housemates and Sophie all nod their agreement, but Wren and Ronnie shake their heads. “We’re going back to my apartment,” Wren says.

“I’ll drive you,” Tom offers.

“That’d be great. Ivy?”

“I’m going to hang around for Conrad. We might come by your place though,” I tell Wren. It’s handy having my best friend and my boyfriend living in the same apartment building.

“No worries. We’ll order pizza when you get there.”

I wave goodbye to my friends and head through the crowd to the changerooms. It doesn’t take long before the door swings open and a freshly showered Conrad follows Dave and Kody out.

I wave to the guys as they walk off in the direction of the carpark and Conrad pulls me into his warm body. I take a deep breath, letting his masculine scent wash over me. “Where are the others?” he asks, nuzzling into my neck.

“A couple of the girls went to Patty’s. Tom took Wren and Ronnie back to Wren’s apartment. What do you feel like doing?”

“You,” he answers without hesitation, poking his fingers into my sides and making me squirm.

I laugh and bat his hands away. “Home it is then.”

He links his fingers in mine and pulls me toward the carpark, walking backwards so he can look at me. “Home sounds good,” he says bringing our joined hands to his lips.

We talk about the game all the way home. I don’t understand a damn thing he’s saying, but I love watching him talk about something he’s passionate about–something he’s good at. I don’t even realise I’m staring until he pulls up at the apartment building and turns off his car.

“What?” he asks with a smirk, turning to face me.

“Nothing.”

He reaches over and takes my chin in his thumb and finger, tilting my head up to look into his ice-blue eyes. A shiver runs through my body as his thumb brushes over my bottom. I lean into his touch.

“Tell me,” he murmurs, brushing his lips over mine. “I’m not going anywhere.”

It’s these words that give me the strength to tell him what I wasn’t sure if I could tell him last night. “I think I’m falling in love with you,” I whisper.

“I’m already madly in love with you,” he replies, tilting his head to deepen the kiss.

We kiss until we’re completely breathless. He gives one final peck to the tip of my nose before climbing out of the car. I follow and he throws his arm around my shoulders as we head into the building.

When we get into the elevator, he goes to press the button for the fifth floor, but I put a hand out to stop him. “I told Wren we’d stop past their apartment,” I say, pressing the number three instead.

Conrad groans, tugging me close and grinding his hips against mine as he buries his head in my neck. “I was looking forward to bed.”

“Twenty minutes,” I promise, twisting out of his grip as the doors slide open.

He mutters something under his breath as he follows me down the hall to Wren and Brady’s apartment. He crowds behind me, circling his hands around my waist and placing an open-mouthed kiss to my neck as I knock on the door.

Wren’s eyes are wary when she opens the door. Alarmed, I step around her as she moves to let us in, and I can see why.

“Hey, Ives.”

Conrad’s grip on me tightens and my heart starts to race.

“Harley…”
