She felt her heart jump at the fact Riley was sharing this, and that he’d never told her his feelings because he didn’t want to get in the way of her plans with her career.
“Tallin, even piss ass drunk, seemed like he was sober. He admitted how he felt, too, but we both thought it best to just let it go because of where you were at in your life, and the fact we were all friends.”
“Oh, Riley.” She wished that they’d been able to take about this stuff back then, but the truth was she hadn’t appreciated how precious life was until Christian had been taken away.

“We are in love with you, and during that drunken talk, and even more recently, after you came back to Burkett and have been staying here, we decided that if there was ever a chance we were able to be with you, we’d take it, no matter what.” He smiled, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “And we knew that if you wanted one of us but not the other, we’d step away, let you be happy.”
“And if I want both of you?” she whispered, her heart beating so fast.
He took a step closer to her, so close she felt his heat. “Then we’d be the two luckiest men in the world, Lilly. We’d share you, protect you, make you so damn happy you never had to fear that the sadness of what happened would consume you.” He reached out and cupped her cheek. “We’d be so good to you, sweetheart.”
She licked her lips, leaned more into Riley’s touch, and knew she wanted this, wanted both of them. “I want to be with both of you, Riley. I’m in love with you and Tallin.”
He smiled, and this time it did reach his eyes. “I know, sweetheart. I know you were with Tallin last night, and I’m happy about that.”
Her heart palpated.
Riley took another step forward. “In fact, knowing you were with Tallin, knowing that there was even a possibility you’d want us both in your life, turned me on so much, Lilly.” He took hold of her wrist and placed it between their bodies, right over his erection. “This is what you do to me. Just thinking about you, thinking about you with Tallin, getting off because of it, because you want both of us, makes me so damn hard Lilly.”
Lilly couldn’t control the torrent of emotions moving in her.
“Do you like knowing you do this to me?” he asked with heat in his voice.
She couldn’t answer, couldn’t find her voice. Instead she nodded. And then something crackled and sizzled behind Riley’s eyes. He started kissing her, claiming her mouth with all the possession she yearned for.
