“I figured we could get dessert somewhere else. If that’s ok?” I ask, trying to reassure her I’m not trying to end our date too soon.

Her eyes light up.

“Sure. I was thinking you may be tired from traveling.” She shrugs before taking the last sip of her wine.

“I am,” I admit. “But I’d rather stay out with you tonight and sleep in tomorrow.”

Lenny smiles with a little blush on her cheeks.

“This isn’t against the rules?” She asks with a sly smirk.

“It is, but I kind of like being a rule breaker.” I wink.

Rule number four in Greg’s dating rules I’m breaking is to always order dessert, but he’s lucky I’ve lasted this long at this place and he didn’t say where to order dessert.

We walked down a few shops on Main Street to the frozen yogurt and ice cream place. I’m completely jealous of Lenny’s Peanut Butter Chip ice cream cup while I opted for the Vanilla chip frozen yogurt. It’s hockey season and I still have to train tomorrow.

We sit in the small booth and Lenny tells me about growing up outside Manhattan. The stores here are all closed or closing and where she’s from most are open twenty-four hours or at least until ten.

“So why come here?” I ask, genuinely intrigued about why Lenny chose to go here. “I mean to me that sounds pretty awesome that at two in the morning I can go to the local what’s it called?”

“Bodega.” She points out.

“That. And get a burrito. I mean I’d probably get super fat, but I don’t think I’d be complaining.” I rub circles on my stomach thinking about all that greasy goodness I miss out on.

“I can’t imagine you’d let yourself get an ounce of fat, Mr. Boring Frozen Yogurt.” She laughs and pokes my abs.

“It has chocolate chips in it!” I defend my choice, but then sneak a spoonful of her ice cream when she’s not looking.

“Mmm. Fuck, that’s good.” I moan looking down at my half eaten Froyo.

I go for another scoop of hers, but she pulls it away.

“No way!” She squeals. “You made your choice and you have to live with it.”

I scoot closer to her and try to reach around, but she pushes her back against me taking quick bites of her ice cream to finish before I can get any. She jumps as I poke her side while shoving a huge spoonful in her mouth. I don’t hesitate pulling her chin towards me and taking her mouth in mine.

“Mmm, peanut butter.” I tease, tasting her ice cream from our kiss.

She laughs and pushes against me, but there’s no way I’m letting her go now. Those lips are mine, and they taste a hell of a lot better than any ice cream.

It’s not long before one of the workers is clearing their throat while moving chairs to clean around us. Melted ice cream forgotten, we head out to my car.

As soon as we get there, I cage her against the passenger side and take more of her passionate kisses. It feels like forever since I felt her against me. I never want to go that long again.

My hand slides up her leg and continues up her flowing shorts to her bare ass with the sliver of fabric in the middle.

“Nick.” She breathes out after breaking away and I moan into her neck trailing my mouth along her jaw. “Can we go somewhere?”

For a second I forgot we’re in a well-lit parking lot in the middle of Main Street. I hear people laughing as they walk by. They’re far enough away they don’t see us. My car is the only one parked on this side and it’s not as bright since the lamp above it is out.

“Car?” I suggest.

She doesn’t look excited about that idea, but it’s a twenty-minute drive back.

I need her now.

“I can’t wait that long,” I plead.
