“Hmm. I’m onto you, Nicholas Miller.”

Not my name.

“You’re leaving early, I guess you’ll have to wait to be on me.” I flirt some more.

I shouldn’t be flirting more like this, but I can’t seem to help myself. I don’t want to give her the wrong idea about us, but I also don’t want to get on Cora’s bad side.

“Ugh. I’m leaving now,” she grumbles, pulling at my shirt. “Fucking Freshman vomited already. At least she made it to the toilet.”

“Did you hold her hair back?” I tease, flicking Cora’s braid.

“Pfft. Not my job, Nick. My job is to get these girls back to the house.” She runs her finger along my side. “See you around.”

I smile, relieved, watching her leave.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a brunette leaving the kitchen.

Was that her? Is it Lenny?

I really hope not. I don’t want her to see Cora touching me. That’s why I’ve been avoiding Cora.

I look around, but I don’t see Lenny anywhere in the crowd.

Face it man.She isn’t coming.

“Nick! Come on, we're starting a new round!” Greg calls out from the back deck.

I give in and play one round of Survivor Flip Cup. Our team is undefeated since last year. And we maintained our title tonight. Last spring as sophomores we finally beat the seniors and we haven’t lost since.

After the last round, the sore losers tipped the table. There’s always the one who can’t take the beating. The cups were thrown everywhere. It’s just unnecessary and wasteful.

I head back inside to get more cups and that’s when I see Lenny dancing with her two friends. I recognize the blonde girl from the gym, but not the other one.

How long has she been here for?

From the way she’s dancing, I’d say she’s at least two drinks in, depending on if she had the punch or just beer. Not that she’s a bad dancer, it’s just that she’s dancing without her normal self-conscious stiffness.

A smile spreads across my face as I watch her shake her ass with her arms raised.

She looks sexy as hell in her short skirt and sneakers. It’s a shame she’s hiding her chest with a jacket. She doesn’t need to hide anything.

“Where’d you go?” Greg asks, pulling me back before I can get the nerve to approach her.

“Eh, sick of games.” I lie. “Hey did you see them come in?”

I motion to the three girls.

“No, do we have crashers?” He looks over to where I’m pointing.

“What? No. I invited her Monday. The yoga girl.” I explain with a slap to his gut.

Greg looks again.

“Oh right, the girl with the nice ass.” He nods, checking Lenny out.

I have the urge to punch him, but that’d be overreacting. I don’t need to do that. Greg’s my best friend and Lenny is just some girl I want to hook up with. So, what if he’s checking her out?

Greg smiles watching them. I know that look.
