I know what all this touching can lead to.

“Don’t rub my thigh and I won’t squeeze your ass, Lenny Briggs.” He wiggles his eyebrows.

I look down and sure enough, my hand is rubbing his thigh.

Fuck those shots!

They’re messing with my brain! I can’t let go of his leg.

My brain is saying move away Lenny! But my body is telling it to move further up.

He lets out a long breath as I squeeze his thigh.

“What’s Lenny short for?” As he squeezes my ass tighter, lifting me off the car and pressing me against him.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” I tease.

“That’s why I asked,” He quips right back at me.

He’s staring at my lips. He’s going to kiss me again. I long for his kiss.

In this little moment we’re having, I’m craving it.

“Hey, lush! Are you ready?” Layla calls out as Greg taps Nick’s shoulder once again breaking up our intense gaze.

I almost trip standing up, but Nick catches me and rights me up straight before walking to the opposite side of the car without a word.

I watch him scratch the back of his head, shaking it while looking down before disappearing from my view.

Layla’s car starts up taking me out of my trance.

What the fuck was that?

Is he upset I didn’t kiss him?

Upset we almost kissed, even though it wouldn’t be the first time?

He didn’t even say goodbye. He just walked away. Looking angry or disappointed or ashamed. I can’t tell and my brain is still in a fog.

Layla tried to ask the same questions but I just grumbled at her and turned up the radio. This whole night was a big mistake.

I have an assignment due Friday. I had to have dinner with Nick, had way too much tequila, and now my head is spinning even more with thoughts about Nick Miller.

I just want to forget all about him.

Earlier that morning I ran into more puck bunnies bragging about how they hang out at the hockey house almost every night.

It made my skin crawl.

They weren’t even talking about Nick, but I still wanted to punch them in the face. Plus, Nick said he hooked up with one other girl or is hooking up with one other girl. Only because she’s“convenient.”

A puck bunny at your house every night sure soundsconvenientto me.

That’s another reason I decided to no longer hook up with Nick Miller. I’m starting to feel things I shouldn’t. Like jealousy.

Layla drops me off at a dark ASA house. It’s late for The ASA’s. Only a few bedroom lights are on when I look up at the house.

They’re probably still up, studying.
