“Sex deprived!” Penny agrees excitedly.

“And a cranky bitch!” Renna chimes in next as she walks past my door.

“Wow, thanks. You girls are such good friends,” I say sarcastically.

“We know things aren’t going well with Luca.” Callie sympathizes with me.

“I can hear you through the wall.” Penny adds. “It’s been awfully quiet and I haven’t seen any bare asses roaming our hall in a while.”

“Come, take a break. We got a cabin and it’ll be two nights of drinking and games.” Callie does her best to entice me. “We don’t have to ski.”

“I wouldn’t mind skiing or snowboarding.” Penny shrugs. “Have you seen the new captain of the snowboarding team? Oh my god, I could watch him ride those slopes all day long.”

“He has a girlfriend,” I warn her before she gets any bad ideas. “But they’re on and off. He’s too good for her.”

Penny smirks and does a little shake.

“Does that mean you’ll come?” Callie gives me her best baby pleading face, equipped with a full bottom lip pout.

Penny follows and even goes to her knees with her palms pressed together in front of her chest.

“Fine.” I give in.

“Woo!” They both jump with a loud cheer.

I really could use a break. I’m stressed out and they’re right. Sex deprived and frustrated because of it. It’s been almost two weeks. Two weeks since the last time with Luca.

I can’t even bring myself to flirt with anyone else, which is exactly why I’ve been throwing myself into planning our event and making sure everything is perfect.

Then I can focus on school and making it through finals. Eventually, everything will be back to normal.

We have to be on the road in twenty minutes, but Penny forgot to drop off the forms we filled out for the arena to Coach Renan.

We could drop it off Monday as she suggested, but I’m not going to wait. This is important and needs to be done. I wish I had enough money to hire an assistant. I was Holt’s for over two years and have nothing to show for it.

Running down the narrow hallway, I’m in a rush to get to his office before he leaves. I need to make it back to finish packing and…wham!Right smack dab into hard muscle and splat back down onto my ass just as I round the corner.

“Watch where you’re going!” I yell out from the floor, lifting my hair from my face.

Of course the pure block of muscle I had to bump into is none other than the one guy I’ve been avoiding for weeks.

“Me?” Luca drops down to help me sort the papers that fell from my folder.

It’s a good thing I stapled the pages for each form. My overworked and overachieving ass saved the day.

“You came running around the corner.” He hands the papers to me and then helps me up.

Reluctantly, I take his hand before embarrassing myself even more and struggling to get up without touching him in this unreasonably narrow hallway.

“Are you ok?” He asks, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

Quickly, he drops his hand and steps back to check me out for any injuries. But I’m not sure if he’s asking if I’m ok from the fall or from the last time I saw him when I had a total breakdown. A complete meltdown where I said everything I needed to say, but nothing I actually meant.

“I’m fine.” I move even further away from him after feeling a shiver run down from where his finger touched my neck that traveled all the way to my knees. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been running. I should know there could be big block headed hockey players who don’t know how to look when walking around corners.”

“Mmhmm, sure.” Luca nods with a smirk, seeing right through my defense mechanisms.

“Now, excuse me.” I straighten myself up and clear my throat. “I have some forms to drop off.”
