“No,” I say while swallowing down my pride that wants to build up another set of walls. I’m kicking those down to let him in. “Because I don’t want you to charm anyone else the way you’ve captivated me.”

His frown quickly lifts to a grin before he takes my hand and brushes a sweet kiss along my knuckles.

“Hate to admit it, but this has been a great date.” I rub my bare feet against Luca’s thigh that he’s been massaging for the past ten minutes while we talk about nothing important at all.

Pizza was pushed off to the side with the rest of our worries about finals, my upcoming sorority event, and Luca’s impending departure.

“The best you’ve ever had?” He asks with a wiggle of his thick brows.

I laugh and kick his thigh for being smug.

“I’m not sure.” I tap my chin. “I don’t think it tops the Nerf war date.”

“Ha!” Luca shouts. “Admit it was a date! Let’s hear it.” He coaxes me, holding his ear out.

“Alright,” I admit with a push at his chest. “It was a greatdate.Until I got drunk and passed out.”

“That was still great,” he says and tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. “I especially enjoyed the part where you got on your knees and begged me to fuck you.”

“That did not happen!” I scoff and push him away.

“Yes, yes it did.” He swings my legs off and climbs over me. “It was so hard to say no, but if it happens again, I would definitely say yes no matter how drunk you are.”

Before I can argue, Luca presses his lips against mine, shutting up any thoughts I had to challenge him.

His tongue swirls around mine as he lifts my leg to rub down my thigh. Igniting my body into flames and making me forget anything we were talking about.

I meant it when I said Luca has captivated me. He’s completely consumed my mind and my soul. And is breaking down all the walls around my heart piece by piece. I want to give it all to him, every bit of me.

It takes a lot for me to fully trust someone, but Luca has shown me again and again that he won’t stop loving me. Even when I hurt him, he never stopped. I need that in my life. Someone who will challenge me and push me. Someone who will accept all of me and not abandon me when I push them away.

I need him.

“Luca, I–”

“We should get you home,” he says with a nod. “I know you need to study and I should probably do the same after I clean this up.”

That wasn’t what I was going to say, but now that he’s stopped me from saying it, I can’t get the words to come again.

“I’ll see you at my game,” Luca says after walking me to my door. He leans down and kisses me again. “I have something to do with the guys tomorrow, but after the game, I’m all yours.”

“Ok,” It’s the only thing I can make out because I’m completely thrown off.

I’m in love with Luca, and I want to shout it out for everyone to hear. But right now, is not the time. It feels like the words are lodged in my throat. I may not be able to say them yet, but I’ll show him in every way I can.

Chapter 35

Luca

Coach is going to announce the news of me leaving tomorrow after practice, and I have to tell my best friends first.

My last home game is Thursday, and I thought of the perfect way to celebrate with my two closest friends. I’ll celebrate with the other guys another way.

So here I am, on Main Street, waiting for Alex and Finn to show their beautiful, grisly faces. I had to come early to set it up and told them to meet me here. It’s going to be so good and I’m bouncing on my heels, waiting impatiently to get their reactions.

“What is this all about?” Alex walks up behind me and I give him my best bro shake and side hug.

I’m really going to miss these two.
