She wraps her arms around me with a bright smile and leans in, kissing me. “I love you as ‘N,’ and I love you as Hoodoo. Can’t we just have both?”

My hand comes up, caressing her cheek. “I am going to miss writing to you, though.”

“Who says you have to stop writing to me?” She smirks.

Raising my brow, I tilt my head. “Oh, I like where your mind is going, ‘G.’ And now I know you’re into ‘N,’ he can write what he wants to do to you.”

Maxxy waggles her brows. “Oh, I think ‘G’ is going to like that very, very much.”

I press my lips to hers, and she giggles against my lips as I lean her down on the bed.I have a feeling this time, she isn’t going to want the gentle kind of loving.

EPILOGUE

Hoodoo

The Next Day

As I sit back in the main clubroom, I pull out a piece of paper and a pen and write a little note to Maxxy. I have a plan I want to put into action, and I want everyone here to see it happen.

I scribble down my note, glancing up. Hurricane’s looking at me, and I dip my head at him so he knows I’m ready. He smiles, ducking off into the Chapel as I stand and walk over to Maxxy. I wrap my arm around her as she stands with Ingrid chatting about something or other.

But before Maxxy can even acknowledge me, Hurricane sends a whistle through the air, gaining everyone’s attention. “Hey, fuckers. I need y’all to listen up. Maxxy… Hoodoo has a note I need you to read out loud without readin’ it first.”

Maxxy turns to me, furrowing her brows. I hand her the handwritten note, and she hesitates but unfolds it and starts reading. “Maxxy… you keep me on my toes. You make me so fucking angry most of the time I want to lock you up and throw away the key.” Everyone laughs as Maxxy glares at me, then shrugs. “…That’s fair, though.”

“Keep reading,” I urge, and she nods, glancing back at the note.

“But even though you push all my buttons, I want you to. Because I can’t imagine our relationship any other way. I love how you piss me off. Never stop…”lowering the letter to look at me, she gushes, “Aww, babe…” but I bring it back up and gesture for her to keep reading.

“Right… sorry…” she clears her throat and continues, “We have an unconventional relationship. We started out as pen pals, our friendship grew at the club, and my love for you exploded out of control the more I got to know you, the real you, Maxxy… ‘G’…” Her eyes widen, and she gasps, looking up at me, her eyes widening in shock as she obviously reads ahead.

Hurricane steps beside me with a property patch, and I tilt my head. “So… what do you say?”

She sniffs, wiping under her nose as a tear slides down her cheek. “You’re claiming me?”

I grab the club cut from Hurricane and slide it over her shoulders. “Fuck yeah, baby. I’m not letting you get away.”

Maxxy chuckles through a sob, pulling the cut tight to her chest. “I’m arealmember of Defiance.” She turns to face me, and I smile at her, pulling her to me.

Hurricane taps her back in celebration. “You always were, Maxxy,” he tells her.

I press my lips to hers, and a round of cheering erupts.

She pulls back, looking into my eyes with a genuine smile. “You claimed me by writing it. So was it ‘N’ who technically claimed me?” she teases.

I lean against her ear and growl into it. “I’ll be whoever you want me to be as long as you’re wearing my property patch and are in my bed tonight.”

Her breath catches as I pull back and chuckle as everyone surrounds us, congratulating and pulling us into celebratory hugs.

“While we’re celebratin’, let’s all take a moment to honor the fallen. Omen was a fuckin’ good brother… the best. And he gave his life for the club. We’re gonna remember him in a proper ceremony, but for now, we drink to him,” Hurricane calls out.

We all cheer as Maxxy’s eyes well with tears. I know she feels responsible for Omen’s death, but any of us would have taken that bullet to save her. I know I, for one, will never forget the sacrifice he made for my Old Lady.

“For Omen!” I call out, pulling Maxxy closer to me and placing a tender kiss on her head while Jaz and Storm come around with a round of beer.

We spend the rest of the afternoon in full festivity mode.

Seeing as how LA Defiance is still here after helping us with the fight, it seemed only right we should make an event out of this.
