“Did you have fun in America?” she asked.

I paused for a moment, thinking back on my time in America. A smile spread across my face as I remembered all the adventures and experiences I had. “Yes, I did. It was amazing. I met his family. They are so awesome. It was definitely an experience I’ll never forget.”

Nora smiled. “I’m glad to hear it.”

“We went to the beach and a baseball game. We drank coffee at the cutest little shop.”

“And what else?” she teased. “I’m assuming there’s been some non-sanctioned activities happening between you.”

“Nora.”

“Come on,” she said. “We’ve always talked about boys and stuff. Tell me.”

I couldn’t help but smile. “Yes, there have absolutely been some unapproved activities. And they have been worth it.”

Nora laughed. “I knew it! You have the look of a lady crazy in love and getting really good sex.”

I burst into laughter. “So good.”

“I’m happy for you,” she said, her eyes warm with genuine affection. “You deserve all the happiness in the world, you know.”

I felt my cheeks heat up. “Thank you, Nora. You do, too. Are you going to marry your guy?”

“I don’t know,” she said, shrugging. “Probably. It’s just been kind of weird being disowned. His parents were pressured to disown us. I don’t know if we thought beyond just being together.”

“Have you talked to them?” I asked quietly.

“Mom and Dad?”

I nodded. “Yes. I’m sure now that they’ve accepted you back, they’ll want to give you the wedding they’ve been planning for you since you were a little girl.”

Nora’s face fell. “I don’t know if I’m ready for that yet. After everything that’s happened, it’s going to take time for me to forgive them. They disowned me. They cut me off without a penny. That was harsh. Really harsh. They wouldn’t even give me a chance to explain. I know they apologized but there’s still some feelings there.”

“It’s understandable,” I said, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “Just take your time. Don’t rush into anything you’re not ready for.”

Nora smiled gratefully at me. “Thanks, I appreciate it.”

“Of course,” I said, giving her shoulder a comforting squeeze. “Tell me more about your guy. What’s he like?”

Nora’s face immediately lit up at the mention of her guy. “He’s amazing. He’s kind, caring, and understanding. He’s always there for me and supports me in everything that I do. He’s also incredibly sexy,” she added with a wink.

I chuckled. “Sounds like a catch.”

“He really is,” she said, her eyes sparkling with love. “He’s also great in bed.”

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Oh really?”

Nora grinned mischievously. “Yes. He knows just how to please me.”

I burst into laughter. “Pretty soon, we’re going to be a couple of married ladies talking about our husbands.”

“I hope you know you don’t have to wait for me to get married first,” she said. “I’m not sure I’m ready for that.”

“I don’t know if I’m going to rush down the aisle,” I said, laughing. “Now that there isn’t a need to rush, Theo might want to take his time. Assuming he really wants me.”

“He does.”

I smiled. “I hope so.”
