After dinner, Theo surprised me by extending his hand and asking, “Emilie, would you like to dance?”

“I would love to,” I said.

My heart raced as I accepted his hand. He pulled me close, our bodies swaying to the gentle rhythm of the music that played in the background. It was the perfect seduction.

As we moved together in the dimly lit kitchen, I felt a whirlwind of emotions. Theo’s touch was warm and reassuring, and the proximity of our bodies left me feeling both vulnerable and alive. I knew this was dangerous. I was falling under his spell.

The truth was, I was starting to feel something deep for Theo, something that I couldn’t quite make sense of. It was a mixture of attraction, admiration, and a growing connection that went beyond the boundaries of our business partnership.

Theo’s voice, soft and filled with sincerity, broke the silence. “Emilie, there’s something about you that’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met.”

I looked up at him, my heart pounding in my chest. “What do you mean?”

He smiled, a warm and genuine smile that made my heart flutter. “You’re strong, passionate, and incredibly dedicated. But there’s also a vulnerability about you, a side that you keep hidden from the world.”

I didn’t know how to respond, his words hitting too close to the truth.

Theo leaned in closer, his lips brushing against my ear. “Emilie, I want to get to know the real you, the woman behind the mask of duty and responsibility.”

His words sent a shiver down my spine, and I felt a longing, a desire to let go of the walls I had built around my heart.

His gaze dropped and it was a clear indication of what he was going to do. I didn’t try to stop him. His kiss started out very light and soft. But as the seconds ticked by, it grew more desperate, more passionate, until he was kissing me like I was the only thing in the world that mattered.

His hands moved down my back, pulling me closer to him, and I couldn’t help but respond. My own hands were tangled in his hair, pulling him closer as our tongues wrestled in a dance that was as old as time itself.

Theo broke the kiss, his breath coming in ragged gasps. “Emilie,” he said, his voice dark with desire. “I need you.”

I knew then that I was lost. There was no turning back from him. His mouth covered mine once again. Our tongues slashed together, sending gushes of warmth through my body.

One night. I deserved one night of passion. I pulled my mouth from his. “We should go upstairs,” I whispered.

Desire flashed through his eyes. “Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

He stepped away and blew out the candles. I took his hand and led him upstairs to my bedroom. He closed the door behind him and locked it.

Theo’s eyes were burning with passion and need as he turned back to me. “Emilie,” he said again, his voice low and husky. “I want you. I need you. Please, let me have you.”

I didn’t hesitate. I reached for him, pulling him into a fierce embrace. My hands roamed over his muscled body, feeling the hard planes of his chest and stomach. He groaned against my lips as I leaned into him. I threw caution to the wind and followed my heart for the first time in my life.

THEO

My heart was pounding so hard in my chest I thought I might throw up. I had waited for this moment for weeks. I convinced myself it would never happen, or when it did, it would be on our wedding night. I resigned myself to sex as a duty rather than a passionate act.

My hands moved to the zipper on the back of her dress. I pulled it down, pushed it off her shoulders, and let it fall to her feet.

“Damn,” I whispered.

My hands slid up her silky-smooth skin. I couldn’t touch her enough. She was breathtakingly beautiful. Her curves were exactly what I wanted. I leaned forward, my lips meeting her neck. I inhaled her perfume, a sweet light floral scent. My body pressed against hers. I could feel her heat through my clothes, and my desire grew stronger. I wanted her so much that I couldn’t wait any longer.

I lifted her up. She wrapped her legs around my waist with her hands sliding through my hair. Our eyes met. I almost expected her to change her mind. Instead, she smiled. I knew what she wanted, and I was more than willing to give it to her. I carried her to the bed and gently laid her down.

I stared down at her while I quickly shed my clothes. She was probably going to kill me, but I pulled the condom from my pants. There had been a slim to zero chance I would need it, but slim had been enough for me.

I quickly rolled it on and dropped beside her on the bed. Her hands roamed over my body. “Are you sure?” I asked again.
