“Who the fuck said I was hiding?” I snarl, Emilio grins.

“She was right, you really are like your father. I’m going to take great joy in what comes next.”

“You and me both.” Chance says just as the sound of helicopters and sirens can be heard in the distance, everything happens so fast, out of nowhere four helicopters appear and gunshots start popping as men begin to propel down ropes from the choppers, shots come from the hanger roof and I know without a doubt that it’s Sin on the roof when Brock’s gun disappears from the back of my head when he drops like a sack of shit. Emilio draws his gun and aims it at me, just as he’s about to squeeze the trigger, Erika shoves him and throws him off balance, the bullet scrapes the side of my arm leaving a flesh wound. The sound of sirens get closer, Emilio runs for his plane, Erika tries to race after him but a shot rings out and she goes down.

Fuck.

Before I can take a step toward her, four men in black masks and blacked out clothes come toward me with their guns drawn. I pull my gun from my waistband ready to shoot until the one at the front yanks the mask off his head.

I drop my gun to my side. “Dad.” I breathe out as he rushes forward and wraps his arms around me for a second before drawing back.

“Get the fuck out of here now, feds are going to be crawling all over this place soon.” I nod and spin around to where the limo was parked with Chaos in the back but it's gone.

“Where the fuck is it?” I shout.

“Where’s what?” Dad asks as I spin back to face him.

“The limo, Chaos was in the back.” The other three men behind my father yank their masks off and I’m not surprised to see it’s my uncles, Knight, King and Rook.

“Where the fuck is my son, Royal?” Knight snaps.

“I don’t know.” I answer honestly, his face turns red with anger. “I think Chance had him moved as leverage.”

“Fuck.” Knight screams.

“We need to find him.” Rook snaps.

“How?” King asks.

“By using his mother.” At the sound of her voice I push past my father and shove my uncles aside to find Erika standing there gripping her shoulder. Pity, I thought that was a kill shot. I say nothing as I grip her by the hair on her head and drag her toward the vehicles my father and uncles run toward, Erika Vargas is going to learn the hard way what happens when you fuck with death.

ERIKA

My shoulder burns, the bullet is still inside and it fucking hurts but I make no sound. From the moment Royal threw me inside the car I’ve been blindfolded, handcuffed, when we stopped I was dragged from the car by my hair and forced into the chair I currently sit on with my hands cuffed behind my back.

I know what comes next.

I’m ready for it. He told me what would happen if I ever defied him and I knew saving him today meant certain death for me. For a split second I allowed myself to believe that the sins of his father don't reflect on him but I was wrong. Emilio left me behind but I have no doubt he’ll come for me, not because he cares but because it makes him look weak that I was captured by the enemy he was supposed to have defeated.

The sound of the rain pelting down on the tin roof jars me from my slumber, I keep dozing in and out of sleep. The pain in my shoulder has reached a new level, shivers tear through my body, I know I have a fever but there isn’t a fucking thing I can do about it. My mouth is dry and feels like a ball of cotton, my stomach has finally stopped cramping from lack of sustenance. I’ve urinated on myself at least half a dozen times and that is the only sign I have that I have been stuck in this spot for at least two days with a blindfold on and my arms still cuffed. I haven’t seen anyone or spoken to a single person since Royal brought me here.

A small part of me wishes I did run with Emilio but I know the punishment from him would have been worse, Chance stealing his money is one thing but the Murdoch Mafia getting the jump on him is another level. He hates them for what they did to our family, I share in that hate. I was a fucking fool to think diffrently of Royal, he will always be one of them!

The sound of chain clanking from behind me sets my senses into overdrive, I hear the heavy chain drop to the ground and then a door squeaks as it’s opened. I may not be able to see them but I can hear two sets of shoes scuffing along the ground, the moment they come to a stop in front of me my breathing begins to turn shallow in anticipation of what is about to happen. The bag that covers my head is yanked off and I slam my eyes closed against the harsh lighting, it takes me a minute to finally blink them open without tears clouding my vision. I look between the man who I know to be Knight Murdoch and the woman who stands beside him is his wife, Koby Murdoch.

I’ve heard stories about these two, from what I hear Koby is just as ruthless and cutthroat as her husband, why the two of them are here though, I have no idea.

“I’ll give you one chance, one, you tell me the truth and I won’t hurt you.” I keep my gaze on Koby as she speaks knowing she is the one who calls the shots here and not her husband. “Lie to me and I will fucking show you the wrath of a mother who has nothing to lose.” I scrunch my face in confusion, I have no idea what being a mother has to do with anything. “Do you understand?” Gritting my teeth I nod. Her eyes darken as she stares down at me trying to decipher if I am going to lie or not. “Where is my son?” I inch back into the metal and hiss when the movement jars my shoulder, I open my mouth to speak but words won’t come. Speaking for the first time after a decade was the hardest thing I have ever done but the urge to make Royal understand was too great to ignore and the words flew out of me. Koby doesn’t see the struggle I’m facing, she takes a step forward and I shake my head trying to tell her that I can’t speak. “I warned you little girl.” She says as she grips my shoulder and plunges her thumb inside the hole the bullet left, a scream so loud and foreign rips out of me as my body begins to thrash against it’s restraints, I know the seat is bolted to the ground which is the only reason I don’t flip over.

“Koby!” Knight tries to reign his wife in but she won’t listen, she applies more pressure to my wound and grips my hair in her other hand, yanks my head back and headbutts me. Black spots dance in the corners of my eyes, I welcome it hoping I pass the fuck out so I don’t have to feel this pain. “That’s enough.” He wraps his arms around her and yanks her away from me, my chin hits my chest just as bile rushes up my throat and I vomit all over myself.

“She knows where my son is!” I hear her screaming through the haze that has overtaken me as I dance between the lines of consciousness. “I’ll kill her if I have to.”

“Kill her and we will never find our son.” is the last thing I hear before I finally black out, the escape is a welcome reprieve.

I gasp awake and splutter and cough as water drips down my face, I blink rapidly to clear my vision. It fucking stings but it’s not like I can rub away the ache, when my eyes land on Chaos—no, that can’t be Chaos it must be his twin, Havoc and Chanel standing before me. Both of them wear looks of disgust as they stare down their noses at me, my chest rises and falls as I look between them both waiting for them to strike.
