“We’re just stocking up for when I drop by the shop and you meet me at the door naked with a cold beer in your hand.”

Lily lets out a choked laugh. “Why exactly would I be doing that?”

“Because you missed me and your pussy’s already dripping wet from needing me to fuck you?”

Lily bursts out laughing—fully bending over—she’s laughing at me so hard.

“A guy can dream, Lemon. A guy can dream.” Grinning down at her, I’m just happy when she’s happy. Even if I’m the one she’s having a great time laughing at.

When she stands up straight again, she rolls her eyes at me, making my dick tug against my jeans.

“You know what rolling your eyes does to me, babe.”

Lily’s eyes drop to my dick, and she gives me a huge fucking smile. Then she rolls her eyes at me, slowly, over-the-top dramatic.

“Careful, Lemon. If you don’t want me to drag you into an alley in the middle of town and fuck you right now.”

“If I don’t…” she whispers.

“Fuck, you’re killing me, babe. Let’s go pay for this shit. Before I get so hard for you, I can’t face my family before I actually do need to fuck you in the alley to get my dick to go down.”

Lily slowly drags her tongue over her lips.

“Lemon…” I growl at her, but she just laughs at me. This woman.

Smacking her in the ass with a case of beer, I nod towards the front of the store. “Let’s go, babe.”

When we get back to the shop, I dole out beers to everyone who wants one while Lily puts the rest of them in the little refrigerator in the back room of the shop.

“So, this is where the party is?” Dad calls out, the little brass bells ringing over his head as he walks into Lily’s shop.

He’s got an armful of pizza boxes from the Italian place down the street, and my stomach growls at the smell. We had breakfast and lunch from the bakery, but lunch was hours ago. I’m fucking hungry.

Western Springs has four food options. The diner, Selena’s bakery, a tiny little Thai place with six tables, and the Italian place. For anything else, you need to head farther afield.

“Let me take those off your hands, old man,” I mutter, as I scoop the pizza boxes out of my dad’s arms and then set them down on the retail counter.

Shoving one of the lids open, I pick out the biggest slice of pepperoni pizza I see and push half of it into my mouth.

“I have paper plates and napkins in the back,” Lily says, rolling her eyes at me.

“No need. I’m all good,” I tell her with a mouthful of pizza.

“How come no one invited me to this?” Dad asks, crossing his arms over his chest like he’s upset he didn’t get to spend the day hauling garbage to the dump.

“Oh please, old man. I invited you,” I remind him. “You said you had to take care of the farm.”

“Somebody’s got to since you were all out here slacking. How many times do I have to tell you, there’re no-”

“There’re no weekends in farming,” I say, along with every one of my brothers and Gunnar. Lily even peeks her head out from the back room and says it with us. If I’ve heard my dad say that once, I’ve heard it a thousand times.

“I guess somebody raised all you boys right,” Dad mutters.

“Yeah, Mom did,” Jacks says with a grin.

We all grin right back. It’s taken years for us to be able to mention mom without someone storming off, pretending to be pissed when they’re just hurting. I like that we smile about her now.

“Damn, right,” Jarret mutters.
