“I gather from the guys you were hanging out with, aka the rock gods and band members of Random Misconception, you’re in the Hollywood industry.”

Rod, Jace and Beckett rarely go unnoticed.

“I am.”

“What do you do?”

“I’ll tell you all about it later,” I say as we stop in front of our suite.

“Okay,” she nods. “Do you come here often?”

“Like I told Carmela, lately, business has been my sole focus. You’re my first victim in a long time.”

“Lucky me,” she smiles. “You don’t date?”

It’s a loaded question, one that always brings back sad memories.

“I haven’t in a while.” That’s all I’m willing to share with her right now. Going down that road is a guaranteed mood killer.

“I’m sorry, Levi,” Jules apologizes.

I guess my tone was clipped.

“It’s a long story,” I tell her. And a painful one.

“I have a few of those myself,” she says.

“We’re here to forget. Remember?”

She nods. “I’m totally on board with that plan.”

I swipe the keycard and push the door open, holding it for her as she steps inside.

I drop the keycard on the console table next to the door, reach for her waist and pull her to me, a sense of urgency guiding my every move.

My fingers brush up her face before cradling it. For a few breaths, my eyes bore into hers.

Her long, dark eyelashes flutter like crazy.

“Fuck, you’re beautiful, Jules,” I murmur.

She lifts her chin up, offering me her lips.

“What do you want?” I tease.

“Kiss me.” Her breath comes out in a soft sigh. “Please.”

“I had my lips on you half an hour ago,” I remind her.

“That’s a lifetime ago,” she tells me with a pout.

“I agree.”

Putting an end to her torment, and mine, I lower my lips to hers.

The kiss is hot, possessive.

I grip her face between my palms, denying her from escaping, and slip my wet tongue into her welcoming mouth.
