“You guys get off easy,” Shane says, walking our way. “You don’t share a last name.”

“Hey, I’m still in the room,” Collin complains. “I can hear you guys.”

“That’s the whole point, Dennison,” Rod sneers.

We laugh.

Don’t let Collin’s cocky attitude fool you. The man is fully invested. In the past month he’s been an outstanding brand ambassador, using his Hollywood contacts to open doors for us. When he suggested throwing a fancy Hollywood party to introduce the concept early in the game to a few of his ‘friends’ instead of waiting, we jumped at the opportunity. Before the end of the star-studded evening held at his mansion last Saturday night, the first one hundred bikes were sold. The next day, the internet was flooded with photos of celebrities posing with one of the three prototype bikes we had set up. Our hashtag is still trending! Fueled by the demand and the media frenzy, we invested in another one hundred bikes––all made in the great US of A. We’re cutting it close, but the bikes will be ready within the next three weeks. Forking out extra money for the enormous fee to expedite the process, will pay off.

“I may be a little anal, but I want this video to springboard the Fit Thonix brand and piggyback on the buzz you kickstarted last weekend,” Dom adds.

“I’m teasing,” Collin says. “I’m sure you’ll make me look good.”

“You’re such a fucking conceited asshole,” Shane pipes up. “You couldn’t stop while you were ahead. It always has to be about you.”

Collin simply shrugs.

With all his faults, you can’t help but love the guy.

“Like always, you nailed it, Dom,” Rod says, changing the subject.

“Thank you,” Dom tucks a strand of jet-black hair behind her ear.

A moment passes between them.

“I’m going to change,” Jules says.

“We’re going to do the same,” Shane says. “We’re still up for drinks?” his eyes bounce to each one of us.

“We’re celebrating, of course, we’re all up for drinks!” Collin is the first to respond.

“I thought I’d get a few hours of editing in while all these ideas are floating in my head,” Dom tells Shane.

“No, you’re not!” Rod’s response is quick, his tone unwavering.

“Excuse me?” Dom asks.

“You’re part of the team, Dom. You have to come out and celebrate,” Rod explains.

“And… you’re part of the team how?”

“I own the damn studio and Levi invited me,” Rod volleys.

“Right,” Dom nods slowly.

There’s a loaded conversation going on between these two we’re not privy to.

Truth be told, Rod doesn’t need to be here.

Dom is a professional. So is her crew. I’m pretty sure Rod has other things to do than to hang out on set. Yet, he’s been hovering like a mother hen all day long.

“You’ve been working really late for the past couple of weeks. Let’s hang out tonight and have some fun,” Rod persists.

She cocks an eyebrow.

“Come on, Dom,” Rod presses.

She considers him.
