I cross my arms over my chest. “I didn’t have sex with my client.”
He lets out a sarcastic laugh. “Who the fuck hires the services of an escort for two weeks without fucking her?”
His words are like a slap in the face.
I open my mouth to defend myself, but I get sidetracked. “How did you know where I live?”
If Todd was unwilling to give him my personal phone number, it would be a cold day in hell before he revealed my address.
“The day I left New York, I hired a car service to drive you to your place. The address was in my profile on the app.”
“Of course.”
“I flew all night to see you, Sofia.” His voice is strained.
His admission dampens my fury.
This sort of thing happens to Ciara all the time, but men never go out of their way for me like this.
We need a do over. “You must be hungry,” I say.
He looks surprised by my question. “Now that you mention it, I’m starving. Do you want to go out to grab a bite to eat?”
“A couple hours ago, I got my grocery delivery, so I’m fully stocked up. We can stay here. Let me get out of this bathrobe, I’ll get dressed, and I’ll fix us some breakfast… and we can talk.”
He smiles. That heart-stopping smile that gets me every time because it’s so rare. “Works for me.”
After slipping on a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, I prepare breakfast burritos in a flash.
We sit at my kitchen island to devour them. We were both starved.
Bryce reaches for another one, but freezes, his eyes meeting mine. “Did he fuck you as well as I did?”
His question causes me to choke on my food.
Wh—what?
I chew quickly. “You need to ease a girl into it,” I reproach.
“Did he?”
The way he’s glaring at me, he could turn me into an ice sculpture.
He’s not going to let this go.
I sigh.
I drop my burrito on my plate.
I grab his hands, and lock my gaze onto his. “There are a couple things you should know. First, I’ve only had two clients since I started working for Todd. You’re my first.”
He cocks an eyebrow.
I nod.
“As for my second client… I don’t want to deal with Todd’s wrath, so please read between the lines.”
He frowns. “I’m listening.”
