“Let’s order first, and then I’ll tell all.” Lily looked at her menu, and I could see her face going bright red. Exactly what had gone on with her and Andrew? It definitely seemed like she’d had a much spicier night that me. My texts with Travis had been exciting, but we hadn’t really crossed any lines.

“Ooh, I wanna know what happened,” Harriet said as she folded her menu. “I’m getting Eggs Benedict.”

Polly burst out laughing. “Don’t you mean Eggs a la Campbell?”

“Shut up, Polly.” Harriet giggled, and Lily and Natasha looked up in confusion.

“Did I miss something?” Natasha asked curiously as she closed her menu.

“Nothing important,” I said, grinning as I looked at my sister. “Basically my sister had a job as a housekeeper, and her boss asked for Eggs Benedict, and she served him an Egg McMuffin and pretended it was a family recipe.” I giggled. “But it all worked out because she and Finn are dating now.”

“Ooh.” Natasha laughed. “You Campbell sisters are too much.”

“Don’t we know it,” Polly said with a laugh. Her expression changed, and she made a face. “Oh boy.”

“What is it?” I asked her, curious as to what had made her turn serious so quickly.

“Guess who’s here?”

“I don’t know.” I shrugged. “Who?”

“Jacob,” Harriet said, frowning. “And two of his brothers.”

“Ugh.” I made a face. “Jackasses.” I looked over at Natasha. “My ex and his brothers.”

“Ooh, okay.” Natasha nodded. “That sucks.”

“I’m just going to ignore him,” I said, but then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked over my shoulder and saw Jacob’s baby-blue eyes staring down at me. His dark hair was cropped low, and while he looked handsome, I felt nothing. He absolutely disgusted me.

“Hey, Chelsea.” His eyes glowed as he looked me up and down. “How are you?”

“Great.” I smiled at him. “Just having brunch with my sisters and friends.”

“Cool, cool.” He lowered his voice. “I texted you yesterday. Did you get it?”

“Not sure.” I shrugged. “I get a lot of texts.” I looked past his shoulder and noticed his two brothers, Sean and Chandler, were standing there waiting on him. Both of them were staring at me, and I wondered what they were thinking. Sean looked like an older Jacob with his blue eyes and dark hair, and I could see multiple women in the restaurant giving him the eye; he was smiling back at them. Jacob was a huge flirt and believed that he was too good-looking to have to settle for just one girl. Chandler favored their father more than their mother in looks and had dark hair and dark eyes. He was probably the best-looking brother, but also the biggest douche of them all. He thought he was the smartest man in the world and literally judged everyone around him. He and I had never been friends as he’d always tried to convince Jacob to dump me. He’d never been very friendly to me, and yet he’d always been around.

“Can we join your table?” Jacob asked, as if that was a normal request.

“No.” I shook my head. “Are you joking?”

“You still mad?” He gave me his puppy-dog eyes. “I do really regret what happened.”

I pressed my lips together, pulled my chair back, and stood up. “Come,” I said to him as I walked over to his brothers. Jacob followed me with eager eyes, and I waited until they were all looking at me before I spoke again. “I just wanted to say that I want nothing to do with any of you.” I stared at Jacob, Sean, and Chandler and put my hands on my hips. “As far as I’m concerned, you’re all dirtbags and I am not going to—”

“Nice necklace, Chelsea,” Chandler cut me off and smirked. “Isn’t that the necklace Jacob got you?”

I touched it lightly and frowned. Shit, it was. “How did you know that?”

“Oh, he chose it for me.” Jacob laughed and stood closer to me. “So you’re still wearing my necklace, huh?” He touched my shoulder and then whispered in my ear, “I’d love to see you wearing it with nothing on.” His tongue licked my ear, and I jumped back, glaring at him.

“You’re a pig.” I pointed at him. “I want nothing to do with you.” My chest was heaving up and down, and I was suddenly aware that the cold AC had hardened my nipples and how it was very apparent through my top. I was about to tell him to go take a long walk off of a short pier when I felt the presence of someone behind me.

“Hey, Chelsea.” Max’s voice sounded next to me, and I turned to the side and saw him and Travis standing there. “Polly invited us to join you for brunch. Hope you don’t mind.”

“I don’t mind,” I said, making eye contact with Travis. “Hi.” I smiled at him.

“Hi.” He smiled back with a small nod before he looked around the room. “Aw, everyone is sitting over there.” He pointed to our table in the corner.
