“But I’d be bringing in more money than I had to pay.” I stared at him in shock. “And I wouldn’t have to pay rent for my own store space?”

“Correct.” He grinned. “Isn’t it marvelous?”

“What’s the catch?” I frowned. “That sounds too good to be true.”

“You have to remain in the space for ten years minimum, and you can’t sell it,” he said seriously. “If you sell, you cannot make a profit. Any profit you make would be put back into the Port Sunshine Small Business Fund.”

“Ten years?” I rubbed the side of my face. “That’s a long time.”

“It is,” he said seriously. “So you really have to decide if this is a dream you truly believe in.” He grabbed some slices of cheddar cheese and added them to the omelet. “Would you like some toast with your omelet?” he asked as he flipped the fluffy eggs over in the pan.

“Uhm, sure.” I smiled. “That would be nice, thank you.”

“White or whole wheat?” he asked as he opened a bread bin drawer on the countertop.

“Uhm, whole wheat,” I said, trying to be healthy, and then I quickly added, “Actually white, please.”

“Sure.” He laughed. “Trying to be healthy, but changed your mind.”

“Something like that.” I giggled. I knew white bread wasn’t good for me, but I just preferred it so much more than whole wheat. “One day, I will follow through with all my healthy life decisions.”

“Won’t we all?” He winked and turned off the stove and moved the pan back. “Breakfast is almost ready. We’ll eat the omelet, and then I’ll make the crepes.”

“You’re so sweet,” I said, surprised at how nice he was being and how comfortable I felt being here. Maybe he wasn’t such a bad guy. And maybe this wasn’t going to be as complicated as I thought. The sound of a door slamming from the hallway made me jump. My heart fluttered as I listened to the sound of footsteps clapping against the ground. Someone was up and headed toward us. I noticed that Chandler had also tensed up. I prayed to God that it wasn’t Jacob. I had no clue what I would say if it turned out to be him.

Icould feel my heart rate beating faster and faster as the footsteps came closer and closer. My head started to feel warm, and my body felt flushed. I wanted to jump up and run away. I wanted to rush out of the house. I was screaming internally inside. I knew that Jacob would not understand what I was doing here. I also knew that he would think I had slept with his brother. Not that it was any of his business, of course. I just knew it would feel icky. Especially because he had been texting me so often as of late. Which totally didn’t make sense to me. I had thought all the Andretti brothers were out of my life forever. And suddenly two of them were in my life, and I didn’t really understand how or why.

The slamming of the door again made me pause. Now I could hear two sets of footsteps approaching the kitchen. Did that mean that both Sean and Jacob were headed our way? I looked over to Chandler, who was dishing the omelet onto two plates. I wondered what he was thinking. I wondered if he was upset that he had invited me. I didn’t know what we were going to divorce. I just knew that I wished I wasn’t there.

“What smells so good?” Sean’s voice entered the kitchen, and I almost fainted in relief. He looked at me in surprise, his eyes widening as he took in the scene. “Well, I never.” He walked over to Chandler and hit him on the back. “You dirty old dog.”

“It’s not what you think,” I said quickly, blushing.

“Oh yeah?” Sean looked over at me, his eyes running up and down. “I was going to call you myself this weekend. Guess I was too late.”

“What?” I blinked at him in surprise. I was about to ask him why he was going to call me when the other footsteps entered the kitchen. My eyes widened as I stared at the almost naked girl standing there. She was blond, with messy hair tied up in a knot on her head. Last night’s mascara covered her eyes and looked a bit of a mess. She was wearing a white wifebeater that stopped halfway down her ass. I assumed it belonged to Sean. It was also extremely evident that she didn’t have on any underwear.

“I need coffee.” She walked into the kitchen and looked around. “Sean, make me coffee.” She grinned as she noticed Chandler standing there. “Oh, hey, big boy.” She walked over to him, stepped on her tippy toes, pressed her body into him, and gave him a kiss on the lips. My eyes widened as she giggled and looked around the room. Her eyes flew past me without stopping. “Sean, are you making my coffee?”

“Yes, Tasmin.” He rolled his eyes and looked at me. “She’s bossy, right?”

“Uhm…” I didn’t know what to say. This was a really awkward situation. Chandler didn’t seem to think it was a big deal and headed over to me with two plates filled with food.

“Here’s your breakfast.” He placed the plate in front of me, along with a knife and fork. “Tuck in before it gets cold.”

“Thanks,” I said, noticing that Tasmin’s eyes were now on me and she didn’t look pleased.

“Any left for me?” Sean asked as he opened the fridge door and just stared inside.

“Sorry, no.” Chandler shook his head and smiled at me. Tasmin walked over to us and pouted.

“I’m hungry,” she said as she stared at his plate. “Can you share?”

Chandler just stared at her for a few seconds, and she giggled. My jaw dropped as she pulled off the wifebeater and stood there almost naked. She had on an almost invisible thong that I hadn’t noticed before. Her boobs were perky, and I was pretty sure she’d had a boob job as she giggled and pretended to cover them. Her fingers moved back and forth on her nipples, and she bit down on her lower lip as she gazed at Chandler.

“I’ll let you have a squeeze if I can have a bit.” She opened her fingers slowly, exposing her nipples to him as she moved closer. I couldn’t believe what was going on. Was I in the Twilight Zone? Could she not see me? Had she forgotten Sean was there?
