“Emily, calm down! Emily—! Me and my big mouth!” She hangs up the phone.

“What happened?” Lily takes a seat. I stand right by the door.

“Emily Burke. I ended up blabbing my mouth and saying you’ll be on tour with Sweets Tyler, and she went into hysterics, and she was all, ‘Why her and not me’, yadda, yadda. Huff!” Sandra takes the other available seat.

“Is Emily another client?” I ask, curious.

“Yup. She’s a folk music artist, which has nothing to do with Sweets!”

“Oh, you’ll get her a break too, won’t you?” Lily asks sweetly.

I’m always in awe of Lily’s compassion and empathy.

“I sure hope so,” Sandra begins massaging the bridge of her nose.

“Where’s the woman to do your hair and makeup? I’ll go find out what’s going on.”

Sandra stands and leaves the dressing room, leaving Lily and I alone.

We’ve been alone this week. Not every day of the week, but a few. She has kept her distance though and only spoke to me when necessary. I could tell a lot was on her mind. I wonder how it’d go today.

“So, no band today?” I ask, trying to make small talk.

“No, today it’s just me. Pay attention to the first song, by the way…”

Her words are insinuating enough to completely pique my interest. “Why?” I ask.

She giggles. “Because it’s about someone special, that’s all.”

“You’re having fun at my expense, aren’t you?” I shake my head with an amused smirk.

Lily laughed in response.

The stylist arrives a moment later, accompanied by Sandra, and I’m banned to the outside of the room while they get Lily ready for the show.

When the door opens again, almost an hour and a half later, Lily is adorned in a vibrant green dress featuring a captivating post-modern illustration on the front, complimented by a stylish denim vest and sleek black boots.

“How do I look?” She asks me, twirling in place to show me the whole view.

“Perfect,” I say, hiding my smile. “Princess.”

She smiles her devilish grin, and twirls back inside the dressing room.

The door is left open, so I stand in front of it. Evaluating the space, I decide the girls can be left alone for a moment.

“I’ll talk with the head of security and will be right back,” I poke my head in and inform Sandra. Busy talking to the stylist, all she gives me is a thumbs up.

But Lily, on the other hand, looks at me with longing in her eyes. She has the same look in her eyes that she had when she first seduced me, a memory that now feels like ages ago even though it had only been a little over a week.

Thankful for my shades, I move towards the front door and standing there is the same security officer who escorted us in earlier.

“Can you get me the head of security?” I ask.

“The boss is in the camera room.” The young man says. “Go through this corridor to the left, first door to the right.”

“Thank you.” I bid him goodbye, following his instructions to a tee.

I find the door and it’s unlocked, half open on its hinges. I take the knob and push it forward, just slightly, and announce myself. “Excuse me?”
