My monster, following my scent so he could come eat me up.
I giggled before I ran out of breath. I’d never known life could be like this. That I could feel this free.
Slick smeared my thighs, the fluid pushed out by the steady cramps. It felt like my heat had come on without warning, but De’drik must have known I was close, and that was why he had lingered despite the long trek ahead of us. We needed to reach his clan before the snows began, but he’d done as he said and kept me hidden away until he could bond me.
Devious monster.
I had no desire to run any farther than it took to ensure his instincts took over and he wouldn’t make me wait. There would be no other alpha for me.
He was mine.
With De’drik, I knew what it was to be loved, and to love someone in return. I didn’t care what he looked like, or if we lived in a cave, camped beneath the trees, or had a modest cabin like the one I’d lived in as a child. What mattered was that my alpha would be there with me.
The snap of a twig behind me had me putting on a burst of speed to dash through the entrance I’d woven out of the long grasses that grew near the lake. De’drik had shown me how to make a bower amidst it to block out the sun when I sat along the shore, but this one was hidden amongst trees and thorny bushes that would protect us.
Dropping into my nest of sweet grasses and fur carrying the scent of us, I rolled onto my back and held my breath as I watched the entrance. It was barely wide enough for his horn and shoulders to pass through if he crawled, and I strained my ears to see if he was near.
“Naughty omega, running from your alpha. You know you want me to catch you.”
The rumble of his voice washed over me, making my nipples tighten as I fought not to make a sound. My entire body burned with need, and I couldn’t help wiggling. When a shadow darkened the opening a gasp escaped, and then green eyes were peering inside.
“I hope there’s room in this nest for me.”
His scent flooded my lungs when I drew in my next breath, erasing anything else I’d planned. I was too impatient to wait any longer. The cramps were growing painful, and I knew my alpha could ease them.
De’drik was careful as he ducked and crawled through the entrance, pausing on all fours as I spread my legs and pulled my skirt up. There was nothing beneath to block his view of where I needed him, but when he only stared, I sat up and reached for him.
Sliding my fingers along his cheek until I could take hold of his horn, I tugged his face forward until his nose was against my lower lips, a whine of need filling the space around us. I couldn’t find words, but I didn’t need them as he nuzzled against my core.
My alpha was going to eat me, and then he’d slide his thick length into me and lock his knot inside as he filled me with his seed.
Then he’d sink his teeth into my neck, and neither of us would ever be alone again.
