Page 101 of Love… It's Messy

Our bodies give way to ecstasy.

Our souls unite, like a fire ignited in a haze of attraction, ready to combust in an outpouring of desire. Yearning, wanting, needing, throbbing. We speak to each other through caresses.

With every thrust, he rubs against my clit.

With each pull, he takes the air from my chest at the loss of him and replaces it with a new thrust deep into my heart.

He speeds up, and I meet him. My palm grips his neck, and I feel his pulse throbbing against my thumb.

Pressing my mouth to his, I cry against his mouth as the firestorm inside my soul burns. He swallows my cries with a kiss until we can’t breathe. Our mouths move and gasp together as we ride out our highs.

I feel the heat of fire growing inside of me. He leaves me, and every time he enters again, it’s like a match lighting the flame once more. It’s an explosion of my heart and my body. When my orgasm rips through me, it’s like a volcano erupting. My body shakes. My fingers grip his shoulders and dig hard into his skin.

Luke is unrelenting, a madman chasing his own orgasm, running into the fire with me, ready to get burned.

As he spills his release deep inside me, I come with a curse, a prayer, and thanks to heaven and hell and anything that made this moment real.

Because this time, neither of us is dreaming.

“MORNING, MOMMY.”

Ainsley’s sweet voice ushers me out of my slumber as I roll over and hug my pillow.

“Hello, my baby,” I say sleepily. I’m still too tired to get up.

“I see your boobies!”

My eyes bolt open as I pull up the duvet and cover my naked body. I shoot upward on the bed, looking to the place beside mine. There’s a large divot in the bed where a man slept. A gorgeous, tall man, who, if my daughter were to see him right now, could be in for a very life-altering surprise.

I look around the room for signs of Luke.

We made love two more times last night—with me on top and another with him taking me from behind in the shower. I hadn’t made love to a man in years, and here I was, having the most intoxicating sex of my life. To say I was starving for the man would be an understatement. I craved him something desperate. I got my fill tenfold, and if I’m honest, I hope there’s more of what we did last night planned for the future.

When I last looked at the clock, it was two o’clock in the morning. Luke was still here, neither of speaking on what the morning would bring us. We were too lost in the sensual shadows to burstthatbubble.

While I’d like to sit here and reminisce about the most intense sexual encounter of my life, I’m having quite the out-of-body experience as I sit in my bed, naked, with my four-year-old staring at me with doe eyes, mussed-up bed hair, and a crooked smile.

“Your hair looks funny,” she says.

I run a hand through my damp hair that must have started to dry in my sleep.

“I took a shower before bed last night,” I explain to her.

She lifts her shoulder. “You forgot to put on your pajamas, silly. Can I have cereal for breakfast?”

With a yawn, I nod. “Yes. Just give me a minute to get dressed.”

Ainsley runs out of my room, and I walk over to my dresser to take out panties, a bra, and a jogging suit. In the bathroom, I brush my teeth and look at my reflection. While my hair is all matted and sticking up from falling asleep with it the way I did, my skin is glowing. I suppose good sex will do that to a woman.

I don’t remember falling asleep. It was foolish of me to have done so with Ainsley in the house. Her waking up to him in my bed would have confused her. Luke must’ve been wiser and gone down to the couch.

As the thought arises, I wonder why I don’t hear Ainsley talking to him. I put my hair up in a bun and then walk downstairs. Ainsley is in her playroom, talking to her stuffed animals. I look in the living room and in the bathroom, then glance outside to see Luke’s truck isn’t there.

I didn’t expect Luke to stay in my bed, but the fact that he left the house completely sets an unnerving feeling in my belly. My phone shows zero messages, and there’s an odd sense of déjà vu in the air.

Luke left.
