“It’s not a good idea.”

“You have to be there as my executive assistant.”

“I won’t have anything to wear.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll have my stylist come by and find you a dress, do your makeup and hair. It’s my way of saying I’m sorry for the way I made you feel.”

Shock blinds me, I didn’t expect him to be remorseful. Maybe he does care. Or I can be reading into it too much. He’s a billionaire. What he’s doing isn’t going to hurt his bank account.

“As long as you keep this strictly about business, I’ll be more than happy to go with you.”

He nods. “I’ll set up an appointment for you with my stylist and get back to you.”

Exhaling, I leave his office without a word, gather my laptop, and head straight to the meeting room.

“The stock is going down slowly.” Jasper taps his pen on the table. His assistant, Ember, lounges across from me. We exchange a curious look and send each other emails, saying how we can’t wait to grab something to drink after work. I’ve never hung out with anyone else or attempted to make new friends since I moved here. But it’s all about to change because I need to leave my condo more often. No more feeling guilty for having a life because my mom can’t. Some days, I feel extremely bad for living the life I want while she’s stuck in a nursing home, then I’ll burst into tears and think of what I could have done differently to prevent the accident.

“I’m pulling a few staff from Nakedto work here. My father demanded the financial history of the company on Saturday, and I gave it to him.”

My mind wanders to Saturday night, and goosebumps arise on my skin. I shouldn’t be thinking about what happened. His tongue, his lips, his dick. I thought I could look past what we did, but since I know how he feels, it’s hard to ignore my desires. My eyes land on his plump lips when his gaze meets mine. He smirks as if he knows what I’m thinking. He picks up his phone, types, then sets it down on the table. My phone lights up, and I pick it up to read the message.

Arrogant Asshole: What have I told you about eye-fucking me?

His words play in the back of my head, and an image ingrains itself in my head of him bending me over his desk, thrusting into me. Everything around me feels hot. Very hot.

I glance up at him, and his eyes are on his laptop.

Jasper shakes his head. “I don’t understand how you put up with your father’s shit. Ever since he’s been a board member, he acts like you can’t run a business.”

“You know how he is. He thinks I don’t know what I’m doing, but I brought in the most revenue since he joined the board. He’s afraid I’m going to lose the legacy,” Atlas snaps.

I’ve never heard Atlas talk shit about his father, and I never knew his relationship with his father was so rocky. When we used to have family outings, I thought they were the perfect family because his father seemed nice. It’s probably for show. Rich people love their image. I guess every family has its dysfunctions.

They speak about numbers, and I present Jasper with a copy of the finances I retrieved from the finance department.

Atlas stands up from the table, and Jasper and Ember follow, ending the meeting.

I pack up my laptop, watching Atlas from the corner of my eye.

He steps forward and rubs his fingers on my lips as if he’s going to kiss me. My breath hitches, and I feel my cheeks redden. He towers over me, leans down, and whispers, “I can’t get the way you moan my name out of my mind.”

My nipples harden, and I swallow loud. “You better have a really good memory of it, because that was the last time and you’ll never sleep with me again.”

“You’ll see.”

My eyebrows climb up my forehead. “Don’t you meanwe’ll see?”

“No, you’ll see. I already know you’re going to cave in, you have to realize it.”

“You and your cockiness. It’s turning me off.”

He glances down at my blouse. “Is it? Because your hard nipples are pressed against your thin dress.”

I bite my lips. “It’s cold here.” I push at his muscular chest. “Move.”

He sidesteps me, allowing me to grab my laptop and head to the office.

When I stride to the hallway, Jasper leans against the cream walls with his briefcase in his hand.
