“Doing what?”
“My mother was the CEO of a company called Young Ensemble, but she retired after moving back to China. I have since taken over, which is another reason I moved back to the states. We could use some fresh thoughts in the company.”
I felt as if I would faint from his words, “Your mother…is Yi Young?! Fashion Icon, Yi Young, and you want me to work in the company that I have always wanted to work for since I was a child.” I stutter.
“What do you say?”
Chapter 2
Ru
By the look in her eye, I can sense the answer.“Of course, I will, thank you. I don’t know how to repay you.” She stammers.
I shake my head at the beautiful woman before me, “Just get better. I will come to get you in the morning. If you need me, don’t be afraid to come to get me.”
“Thank you, sir.” She thanks sweetly.
A Year Ago
“Yes, Ma. I will tell him.” I tell my mother over the phone in Mandarin. She is not pleased with Greyson not telling us about his engagement.
I valet my car and walk towards the entrance, but then I see a stunning woman outside. She is wearing a dress from my mother’s earlier collection. A woman with good taste in fashion. She is complaining about her hair that I am guessing had become frizzy because of the humidity. Her legs are long, but her torso was short. The woman had brown skin, dark red lips, and raven-colored hair.
After speaking to her I hear my son’s voice and I made the connection. This is his fiancé.
As she stormed off from their fight, I looked at Greyson throwing a fit. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, I just ruined my fucking life, Dad.” He roars.
“Then why did you cheat on her with her mom, dumbass.” I shake my head.
“I was going to stop after we were married. I just wanted to have some fun before I was tied down. I didn’t want to even get married so soon, but I knew if I didn’t propose she would leave.”
“Then why not just let her know that and not propose if you were not ready?”
“Because I love her. I do, I know it doesn’t look like it, but I would give her the world. I just didn’t want to be married so fucking soon. It’s only been three years. I’m only twenty-seven, and she’s twenty-six why does she want to get married so badly? Fuck, fuck, fuck. This can’t be happening. This can’t be fucking happening!” He kicks something nearby and I watch as my idiot son unravels.
“But her mother?” I emphasize the ‘mother’ part.
“Dad, you haven’t seen her. You would have fucked her too.”
I raise a brow. As a parent, you are to love your child unconditionally and I do love Greyson with my whole heart, but he seriously could have used a spanking as a kid. He has grown up to be entitled and has a lack of empathy for those he hurts. His only concern is for his direct feelings. This was his takeaway from what just happened. So, is that my fault? I raised him, did I indulge him too much or not enough for him to become like this?
Another woman comes into view. Her lipstick is slightly smeared. Her dress looks like she is struggling to put it back in place. Her light brown hair sits along her tan shoulders, and her green eyes are set on Greyson. Now, I’m no Sherlock Holmes, but I am guessing this is Taurus’s mother. She does look about the same age as Taurus. They could pass for sisters. Greyson was right she is beautiful, but still, there was no reason to cheat on his fiancé.
“I guess our fun has come to an end.” She snickers. “Now that she knows.”
The woman looks toward me and smiles. “Greyson, let’s go,” I order.
Greyson listens and follows me in his car to my new home.
He sets his keys on a nearby table, “Nice place.”
“It is nice, although not very homey.” I chuckle.
Greyson throws himself on the couch with his head in his hands. “I need to get her back.”
Present
I can’t help but feel a warmth go through my body when she called me‘sir.’Fuck me, I need to get it together. I take a cold shower and remember that this woman is my son’s ex-fiancé.
