I shadowed Bryn for about ten hours that day, but I had to stay at the building for another hour. Ru brought me here and so I had to wait for him to finish with his work as I sat in the chair in front of his desk. I would start to fall asleep and wake up. He would glance at me and laugh.

Ru

Taurus fell asleep in the car. She keeps coming in and out of sleep. It must be hard to sleep after everything that happened. I shouldn’t have put her back into work. I have heard nothing from the investigators, it has only been two days but still, nothing.

She needs something fun to distract her. Not work, not now at least.

Taurus moans in her sleep as she shifts in the car. “We’re home, Taurus,” I announce.

Sluggishly, her eyes open revealing those magnetic eyes. Her eyes reminded me of the sky on a starry night, mysteriously dark with a memorizing twinkle. I get out of the car and open her door.

“Fuck, sorry I fell asleep. I’m up.” She yawns.

I take her hand helping her out of the car. She thanked me, we walk inside, and she starts making her way toward the guest house. “Taurus, if you want…we could watch a movie in the backyard. I have a projector I have never used, but if you’re tired- “

“No, let’s do it! It will help me with ideas for the upcoming sketch. I know just the movie to watch.”

Taurus

I grew up loving horror movies and serial killer documentaries. Does that make me weird? No, I’m sure it’s fine. I wanted to watch this new horror movie. I love the ones where you have to think about what happened. Movies where you watch it twice and get to experience a new understanding.

Ru and I changed into more comfortable clothes. Ru had on sweatpants and a long blue sleeve shirt that fit him a bit loosely. We sat on the outside sofa and watched the movie. Greyson was always afraid of watching these movies with me, which I found cute. Yet, Ru has not flinched once. He watches it diligently and gives me a few glances during the movie.

Abruptly, he shifts uncomfortably for a second. Is he scared? He was fine for the first half. Was he holding it in?

“Ru…are you scared?” I giggled.

He smiles nervously. “I don’t do paranormal movies.”

“Wait, so you’re not scared of horror movies, just paranormal?”

“Listen, if someone broke in, I would save you no problem, but if the house is haunted, you’re fucked.” He confesses honestly.

I almost fall off the couch. “You would let the ghost kill me?!” I die of laughter.

“It’s not my fault, my parents used fear as a means to punish me. My father told me that our house was haunted and if I behaved the ghost would not hurt us.” Ru laughs.

My hands cover my mouth to suppress the laughter trickling out. “That is incredibly disturbing.”

I rub the top of his hand with my own. “I’ll protect you from the scary ghost.” I tease.

“Fuck off.” He playfully scoffs, but he doesn’t move his hand from mine.

What am I doing? Why am I casually touching him? He’s just so…comforting.

I feel…water? Rapidly, an abundance of rainwater falls on us. Ru looks over at me and we run inside the guest house.

“Fuck, we’re soaked.” I huff.

That loose-fitting shirt he was wearing was clutching onto his perfectly sculpted body. His six, no, eight pack are in full view.

Ru’s hair is completely wet, and his black strands stick to his face. His fingers push his soaked hair back. I run and get a towel from the bathroom. “Here.” I pass him the towel.

“Thanks.” He whispers taking it. “I hate rain.” He grumbles drying his hair.

“I don’t want you to get sick. Please take off those wet clothes. You can shower first, and I’ll go after you.” I offer. “I washed and dried the pj’s you lent me if you want to change into that.”

“It’s fine I’m sure the storm will pass. Go ahead.” He politely declines, but I can hear the storm getting worse.
