“Tonight, we strike, until the Irish are dead.” The men agree with praise as they await their war to come.

Before the men go to war with the Irish, I want to leave Prince with my parents. I take a car and drive there myself.

When my parents open the door, they give me hugs and kisses. “Hija, where have you been?” My father gleams.

“Life.” I brush off walking to their new home. I decided to get them another home that had more space and an excellent security system. I couldn’t take chances with our enemies around.

“How’s the house?” I ask.

“Beautiful, never in my life would I think we would have a house like this.” My mom awes.

I smile. “I’m glad you like it.”

“But please, tell Kyro we are okay. He doesn’t have to pay for everything.” My father laughs.

I shrug with a smirk. “You tell him that. He’s not going to listen.”

My mother walks over to me and hugs me. I’m confused, but I hug her back. “You know, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you carefree. I know how hard of a year you’ve had, but I’m happy you were able to find love again. That’s all I want for you, my love. To find enjoyment in life. I’m so proud of the woman you are. You are everything I knew you would be.”

“Thank you, mami. I am happy. Kyro makes me happy.” My smile is full of growth, and I can even see it in myself now. And not just me, Kyro has grown as well. He’s still combatting his demons, but he took a step forward in going to Ivan’s grave. I see that our future is headed in the right direction.

“Have fun with yourabuelos. Kyro and I will be back to get you in two days.” I say, hugging Prince tightly.

“Dad won’t lose,” Prince whispers in my ear and my heart stops for a moment. I don’t know how to respond to him and so I just nod.

The war is going on now and I can’t pretend I’m not worried about Kyro’s safety.

Kyro

Blood is soaked through my clothes. Alek Tavish was nowhere to be found. The fucker probably fled after killing ten of my men.

“P-Please, don’t…” A strangling pig cries, but I shoot him in the face. His blood splatters on the pavement and I keep walking, looking for my next target.

This is just the vacation home he was last seen at. He might not be here; he would be a fucking idiot to have stayed at this location. I walk through the halls with five covering me.

I searched for an hour, but I still haven’t found the bastard. “He’s in there.” An Irishman points out.

I put a bullet in his head, “Thanks.”

His body falls to the floor, and I walk over it. The room I walk into is an office. Alek Tavish is sitting behind the desk without a care in the world.

“Fuck, lad. I didn’t think you would find me, so I gave you a hint.” He laughs. Seeing him, you can see he’s not all the way there. He’s insane and not in a fun way.

“You seem calm for someone about to be shot several times.” I scoff.

He smiles. “You know what I realized? You can’t hurt someone by just torturing them. You need to torture the person they love the most. So, kill me, but you’ll think of me every time you see your wife.”

What the fuck is he talking about?!

“You know why it was so easy for you to get to me? It was because I knew you would never leave your wife alone again. You have so many men, so I had to send most of them to her. So, I’ll die, but at least you’ll always remember me.” He laughs and I lose it, shooting him until my clip is empty. His face is disfigured from the shots.

I called Reyna’s phone and there’s no answer. I throw my phone against the wall. “Fuck!” I scream.

I ran out of the home and got another phone. I call Prince and he answers quickly, “Are you okay?” I frantically ask.

“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m with my grandparents. Mom left me here an two ago. Is she okay?”

“Stay there. I’ll call back.” I couldn’t tell him something I didn’t know.
