“One hundred thousand on just a pizza?” I heard someone mutter close by. “I bet it’s not even that gr—”

“Two hundred thousand,” Drake called, this time a little louder, the guy to the side of us suddenly shutting his mouth really quick.

Because it wasn’t just a pizza.

It was pizza frommyfavorite place—Romano’s.

From the city I fell in love with more each day—Boston.

From our first date—at least, that’s what I was going to start calling it.

It wasn’tjusta pizza. It had officially become one of those parts of my life that will forever bring back memories every time I smell or taste it.

It was a part ofmy story.

And now it was a part ofour story.

“Anyone else?” Reed waited just a few seconds before he slammed his gavel on the small table in front of him. “We have a winner. Bring out the pizza.” The announcement was loud, and at the same time a chorus of applause moved through crowd behind me as I took a step toward Drake.

“You’re crazy,” I whispered, shaking my head.

He took my hips in his hands and leaned into me. “You don’t know the half of it,” he said, though the smirk on his face was turning into something else. A smile. A warm, incredibly real smile as he looked out over my head.

“Cass?”

Her voice was like a blanket.

It wrapped around me.

It comforted me.

It was love. Completely unconditional, unwavering love.

The kind I took for granted and didn’t really understand until I saw the same kind of love inside Drake’s clubhouse. Men and women who would give anything to make sure each person was safe, cared for, and supported. It was the kind of love willing to wade through the depths of hell to stand by you and not judge you for your past, present, or future choices.

I knew things could’ve been different if I’d let Eden in.

My first reaction was to look down at the floor, sure I’d find my heart there because it had beat so hard it had left my body. My legs were like jelly, and I was absolutely petrified to move in case they gave way beneath me.

“Cassie…” she tried again.

This time though, the words broke the dam I’d been fighting to keep in place, and I couldn’t fight the sob that completely wracked my chest as I spun around and caught sight of my sister for the first time in years.

Reed quickly stepped in and took the pizza she was holding, just in time for me to launch myself at her, tears, snot, smeared makeup, and all.

I knew the room was staring at us.

That we were creating somewhat of a spectacle.

But I didn’t care.

She was here.

And that was all that mattered.

“There’s cheese on your chin,” I told Eden before taking a large bite of my slice of pizza and fighting with the stretchy mozzarella.

She quickly scrubbed it from her face and flashed me a smile. “So, billionaire boyfriends and charity balls,” she said casually, her eyebrows flickering toward the hallway where I could hear Drake, Rip, and Reed’s low rumbling voices.
